Both rows of teeth on this comb are the same length and I think that makes it a little bit more ineffective at really getting out all the loose undercoat fur. However because of that it moves through the fur very easily and so I can brush my long-haired cat with it for a longer time -- so I think it's helping prevent tangles but it doesn't help remove all the excess loose fur which leads to fur balls. Glad I eventually found my ancient fur comb. I still use this occasionally, but my old comb with the different sized teeth works better for removing excess fur.

This rake is the best I've ever used on the many double-coated dogs I've owned. It has a comfortable handle and is amazing removing the undercoat. BUT, sadly, the handle came off within a few weeks of using it. This is shedding season, so I was hoping to get a replacement. My big Tibetan Mastiff is still blowing his coat. The picture shows what undercoat came out in about 5 minutes! I put the handle back on, but it keeps falling off.The company is out of the product, so I hope it gets back in stock. I will try to glue it and will return the rake if the glue won't hold. I can see a small amount of glue used to attach the 2 pieces of the rake together. They probably need a better way to attach the 2 pieces together or need more glue.I would give it five stars if it had not broken.

Learning to groom our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! He LIKES this brush!!! Yeah!He doesn’t like to be brushed with many combs/ other brushes I have. But I can brush him all evening with this one! I keep it by the couch and brush him every evening as we wind down at night. He even rolls over and let’s me brush his underbelly! Yay! No more fighting to groom him!This one removes a lot of his undercoat/ loose hair. It’s perfect for keeping him “mat free”. Works great on his long ear and tail hairs too.

I’ve bought about 8 other brushes and combs for my Tibetan mastiff and THIS is the one. I noticed her undercoat was starting to get matted up looking despite my brushing her daily and nothing was working well. The things that did get through just pulled so much and hurt or were making her top coat look bad. This thing blew my mind and is painlessly and almost effortlessly getting through it all and getting her all untangled and getting that loose hair out and she is looking fabulous. Her coat is insanely thick and dense and long, she looks like a bear with a lions mane, and if this brush can get through her fur, I bet it can work for your pup too!

Does a great job

Seems well built and sturdy. However it just doesn't do the job. I can brush her with his for 30 minutes, then run my hand down her back and get more fur than the brush did.I will be lookin for something else to assist me with her shedding.
