Is this the cord that connects from the battery charger to the camcorder? That is what I'm looking for.

Yes it is. It plugs into the back of the camcorder from the charging unit itself so that the camcorder can be used without killing battery power. Great for usage when you are not moving a lot i.e.... outdoors pool party, birthday parties (indoors) and the such.

Will this work with an older panasonic pv-a218 vhsc camcorder?

If the back of your camcorder looks like this in the back (beneath where the battery pack would go) it should work! Seller offers free returns if it does not fit. It works great on my PV IQ504.

Exactly the right component needed to bring a vintage camcorder back to life. Works with the old Panasonic analog recorder I picked up for our craft group. As the batteries are very old and don't charge well, this cable was essential. So happy to find it available.

Doesn't fit all camcorders

There was nothing wrong with the cord. It didn't fit our camcorder. We also ordered a Universal adapter which worked perfectly. Not returning it as it cost almost as much to return as it did to purchase it.
