We love the Bissell Perfect Sweep Turbo Rechargeable Carpet Sweeper, even though it became worthless after less than 4 years because the battery died. They are relatively inexpensive so we just bought a new one and once it arrived, I went about replacing the battery in the old. I found this through a Google search. It lived up to its word. It is an exact replacement for the internal rechargeable battery. Replacing it was relatively easy if you're a bit handy. You need a long thin phillips screw driver. Pull it apart. Pay attention to how the belts are aligned. One trick is that there is an internal switch that needs to be closed for the motor to work, not the on/off for use. Not sure how it was closed, maybe I lost a part when I opened it, but after some troubleshooting I found out why it wasn't working and I just used tape to close the switch. My old Turbo Sweeper works like brand new with this replacement battery. I'm using it in the garage and found that it picks up big stuff too. It's a champ. If you're comfortable taking things apart a bit (not a lot, but a bit), you can do this and this battery does the trick.

The original battery was not charging anymore and this replacement has saved me from buying another sweeper. So much for no user serviceable parts.

We managed to open up our Bissell Perfect Sweeper to change the battery, and it seems to run just as well as it did with the original battery. Considering that I thought we'd have to throw it away, this was money well spent. It's finicky, but worth trying to do. Look for screws under side brushes when trying to open. They were hidden for us, so for a minute or so, we were stumped. It really annoys me that Bissell doesn't make it easier to change their batteries. In this era of trying to be better to the environment, the thought of throwing away a perfectly good sweeper because of a dead battery is shameful.

Bissell said on the website's user manual NOT to change the battery pack. Here was the warning: "NOTE: Disconnecting the battery will destroy the appliance and invalidate the warranty." I am good with mechanical things and figured the website was speaking to folks who were not handy. Well, I got it done and everything looked good. The machine did work, kind of. I tried it out on the floor and it was spinning and getting stuff up but the motor was roaring and running about four times faster than normal. I decided not to wait for the flames and turned it off. I took the machine apart again and recycled the nice new battery. Know that I had matched the product numbers advertised by ZZcell but alas - it was not to be. I didn't take apart the old battery pack and the new one, to compare, but I wondered if they were wired differently - ie, series and not series or maybe Bissell put in some sort of kill switch as warned. Anyway, I salvaged some of the unit's parts, threw the rest away and ordered a new Bissell 2880 Series Perfect Sweep Turbo Cordless Carpet & Floor Sweeper Vacuum. I'll use it until the battery goes out. So sad - but the battery pack DID come in time from ZZcell and the battery pack did appear to be a new item. However, I'm not sure they should advertise that it's compatible with the unit advertised, without quoting the user manual's warning. Now I have. Be warned!

I liked the fact that I could go to Amazon and order the proper battery without having to leave home. I am happy with my arrical in yesterdays mmail. Is was suppose to arrive this coming week.

J’ai commandé une nouvelle batterie pour remplacer celle de mon Bissel parce qu’elle montrait des signe de fin de vie . Avec cette nouvelle batterie , je ne vois pas de changement , à besoin de charge pendant de longue heure , voire des jours , débranche le chargeur pour usage normal passer le Bissel sur la moquette , un usage d’environ 5 minutes et la batterie 🪫 montre des signe de faiblesse . En conclusion, je crois que j’ai reçu une batterie usagée , j’oserais dire une batterie en fin de vie . J’ai mis une étoile , si j’avais eu la possibilité de mettre 1/2 étoile , je l’aurait fait . Je me suis fait passer un sapin.
