It is 100% marble:) made of 1 piece of stone. Really great item.

What size is the container? How many grams will fit in, really? Is it like for one stick of butter (125g) of is it big enough for 250g?

The butter dish holds approx half a packet of softened butter if that helps .

Does it stay good in hot weather

Butter does stay good. But I've found it becomes very soft in hot weather. I maybe expecting too much! Other than that it works fine.

Is there a waterline mark indicator inside the crock?

No not that I could see. Easy to judge
