Yes the entire handle is made of metal!!!!

How does this compare to the Nago or other brand of, this style of knife?

Miyamoto Musashi and his family are legendary sword makers. The difference is in the quality of the steel and care and craftsmanship in manufacturing. Beware of reproductions which are not of the same grade, caliber.

What does his knife have to do with Miyamoto?

When sword making was no longer permitted in Japan the Musashi family, like many other families skilled in the art, turned their focus from sword making towards knife making.

What does the inscription say on the side of the handle?

The writing on the handle is in Japanese on one side the other side is a picture of a samurai swordsman I don't know what Japanese writing is but it looks cool
