With a hot seaside holiday planned this summer, we looked out or old snorkel gear, to find my son's old face mask was way too small and looking very tatty. I was about to get a regular style replacement when someone introduced me to this new 'full face' - wider vision mask - I'm glad they did and I'm now thinking of getting a 2nd larger (adult) size one for the wife and me too!This new design really makes sense, no more wrestling with a separate snorkel, trying to grip it in your mouth and wriggle it under the strap at the side of your head. The all in one design means the fresh air you breathe, flows down over your eyes and helps keep the mask de-misted, before being breathed out in front of you (very like a scuba diver would do).The mask is easy to fit, with soft wide straps that hold it securely on the head, there is a soft rubber seal all around the face and the snorkel clips very securely onto the top. The snorkel also has a one-way ball valve at the top, so water can't easily get down into the face mask if you say decide to dive.Until we give it extensive testing on holiday, it;s hard to know for sure how durable it will be, but it looks very solidly made. I think we will need to take care not to scratch the clear plastic viewing port, but that would be true of any plastic lensed mask.One really neat touch is the inclusion of a Go-Pro compatible camera mount you can slip onto the snorkel.I don't have a Go-Pro, but do have a good value 3rd party action camera, that I've included in the photo's so you can see how it works - just remember the camera and the waterproof camera box are NOT included with the face mask - but the mount is, as you can see in the accessories picture. You do also get a yellow camera float too ... so that's a bonus!I will post a video of the mask in use very shortly but wanted to share the above and my initial photos - all round this is great fun and just in time for the holiday!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  First thing to say is this is a fantastic product. I brought it for a holiday to Turkey, when I found all the old ones had perished. It cost only a little more than the traditional designs that haven't changed since I was a boy so seemed worth a punt.It does all it claims, despite very high air temperatures and relatively cool water temperatures, misting up was never an issue, nor was any water ingress at all.The biggest advantage for me was the vastly improved field of view over those old designs. That peripheral vision allows you to see things that would have otherwise passed by unnoticed. The position of the snorkel also allowed for the head to turn all the way left and right without it dipping into the water, making it a much more relaxing experience. In fact it took a very deliberate effort to make the snorkel go under the water at all.I bought the XXL mask to fit me, but it also fit my 15 year old daughter. As long as the face is long enough it is very forgiving on face width , which was a real bonus.Between my brother in law, my daughter and myself this mask saw two weeks of hard work in the very salty Aegean sea and looks as good now as when it came out of the box. I'll be buying more of the for the other kids for next year and a go pro type camera to fit to it. It might help my awful camera work. Good speedy delivery as well.
