No.  The light is not supposed to be blinking.   This generally denotes an power problem and its possible that your battery is not being charged.

The short answer is if the unit is still under warrantee, get a replacement.

For some trouble shooting, first, obviously ensure that you the cables are plugged into the wall outlet properly, as well as the AC adapter and your computer.
