Very, very good budget humbuckers.
I installed these on my newest build and they sound VERY good. I would certainly buy these again. I'm blown away by the quality and sound at this price point. My rating justification is as follows:Ease of Installation: Four Stars:The metal on which the pickups are mounted is very weak and easily bent. I didn't break the frame, but I imagine that it wouldn't be hard to do. Proceed with caution when installing, and if something doesn't fit, don't force it. Other than the frame, it was very simple. My set came with two different colored hot wires as well as numeric stamping on the backplate, so it was easy to determine which pickup is intended for which location. I used the red (FC-51) for the bridge.Value for Money: Five Stars:Seriously, you can't beat it. I will certainly buy them again.Sound Quality: Four Stars:Very, very good. They aren't quite as punchy as I'd like, but I might make a tone knob adjustment and see if that "fixes" it. Everyone in my band says that these sound awesome. I think that they are on par with bigger name brands. The only reason for the four star review is that these aren't "forever" pickups in my performance guitar. I'll be upgrading to something with a bit more air and punch on the treble side of things, but these are perfect for an everyday guitar, a backup performance guitar, or anything in between. The sound of these beats out expensive name brand single coils with which I previously performed. Crazy good sound for the money.

These pickups are excellent. I've owned and have tried many brands
These pickups are excellent. I've owned and have tried many brands , SD, Demarzio, Kinman , cheap pickups etc. and these pickups are comparable in tone to the best of the best. I got two , one with red wire and the other had a blue wire without any writing on the pickups to indicate Bridge or neck, but fortunately without even using a multimeter I was able to identify the pickups by checking the wire's length. The blue was shorter so it had to be the bridge and once installed It was confirmed based on the sound levels. These were replacing some PAF style pickups that weren't properly wax potted, maybe intentionally. No squealing from these pups, only smooth musical tones. They were very well balanced, and neither extremely bright or dark. Forget about the price of less than 15 for two. I'm reviewing these based on quality and sound and they are the perfect pickups for me. I put them on a Mahogany strat type guitar and I can't be happier. I love how they're not harsh and how musical they are even though I think they're hot. Don't judge by the mutlimeter, because these pickups have can push an amp nicely. To get the sweet spot I adjusted the pickup heights to a little over 1/8 of an inch and that brought up so much clarity and eliminated any muddiness yet there's still enough juice to get the amp cooking.Based on the type of music I play these pickups have a lot of articulation that might be lost if you hit the string aggressively but they have a lot of dynamic and will respond much better to a varying degree of how you strum the string. I think you might be able to pull any kind of music styles including metal once you get the feel to how they respond. If I had paid a hundred dollars each, I still would have been happy with the sound, so for packaging, there' really no point in addressing as for eleven dollars set shipped including screws and springs, if the pickups make a sound and they're not DOA, then you just landed an incredibly musical pickups that has it all.The only problem I ran into was that the height screws were too high for my guitar. I din't want to drill holes but instead I used some good pliers and cut the screws short. I could have used a hack saw but figured if my I can pull it off with pliers it would be quicker. The screws where hard, but with the right pair of pliers, with some struggle , I was able to quickly pull it off. I'm extremely thrilled with these pickups and prefer them to DImarzio Distortions and Seymour's JB that I've owned and played for a long time. I honestly like the way sound , feel and respond as they have their own unique flavor. Get them and make sure NOT to adjust the pickup heights too close; 1/8 of an inch or higher and you will be in tone heaven.

Work just fine, a bit bassy, not a lot of treble
These pickups work just fine. I found them to be a bit bassy, with not much in the way of treble. Kind of made the bridge position sound like the neck position, and the neck position sound even more like the neck position. I put them into an Ibanez RG520QS -- which is normally a pretty bright sounding guitar (not anymore with these pickups). I don't know that I'll keep these in there -- nothing wrong with them -- but maybe just not quite the sound I'm looking for. OTOH, I have a lot of guitars, and none that sound quite like this one does, so I might keep it around like this just for the variety. They kind of do that Clapton "woman tone" thing really well, but they don't do anything else (they do it with the tone on full bright or with the tone on zero.) What they won't do is anything bright.

Fantastic Clean Distortion Now!!!
I'm a beginner but picked it up fast. Playing Creeping Death/Skeletons of Society all the way through amongst others, but I thought my amp was crap or I just didn't have a good tone touch on the strings because with distortion cranked up it sounded like a static mess. I mean it was horrible. When I put one of these on my single humbucker Peavy Rockmaster....HOLY @%#&!!! Now it sounds so clean and even with gain up to 12 there's no problem hearing all the notes and power chords clearly and distinctly. I mean I have to work hard on my hand muting to get a deep crunch, only problem now is I need more distortion, so u have a new pedal coming haha. For the price it's a steal. I can only imagine other genres sound just as good on these. I'm gonna try some CLUTCH later today.I cant say enough but I'll add I was gonna return my amp as I thought it sounded horrible for metal but now I love my amp ( Fender Champ 20) my tone is frigging outstanding now even with zero pedals or gizmos. Of course now I'm getting an overdrive and distortion and wah just to see what other tones I can get. So excited to play now!!

Durty, crispy.. very hot. Accurate. Wow!!!!
These are HMV’s But actually great ones. DC resistance is accurate to the description.well made for the price.SOUNDS:They were mounted on a Hand made LP guitar. Wired 50’s with shielded wires and CTS 550k pots Throughout a VOX VT40+ they sound very loud and crispy. Very durty clear. When played gently, they are warm n milky. But it does not take much to turn them into punchy durty bastards. Eavier in the high ends.. not much definition in the low ends. But all n all.. wow. Perfect for durty clean and overdrive players. I wouldn’t use to record a clean part but ALL IN for any oldies, Hendrix, Led Zlepplin, AC/DC, Van Hallen, guns n roses type of music. They are fu...k....g great pickups !!!CONS:The only bad thing about these is the pole screws. Some of em are loose. For the moment they are olding in place. Hope they will stay put even with hard vibrations coming through.Would definitely recommend
