This is one of the best products I have every purchased. After an ice storm, I just could not bear to waste the wood by hauling it away. While I had a wonderful DR Power electric log splitter, the DR wood rack product was nothing compared to this product. The metal is very very very strong. I am a woman who works with hammer, screws, nails, so it isn't hard to put together, just takes a little time, very little. I suggest putting initial screws in while first 2x4's are laid flat on the ground, then work from there. Çan hold tons of wood because you can customize to the length you want - simply cut the lengthwise 2x4's down. I set my racks to 7 feet. I set another rack to only 4 feet so I can easily access some dry wood in my garage without going outside into rainy weather. For 7' one, I put shallow cement block under the corners to make it easy to level (no tipping) and then one block support in the middle. This kept it off the ground for wood to "breathe" and season well. Super strong product, easy to get level - holds tons of chopped wood. Easy to cover with sturdy plastic cause I don't have a covered awning outside.

This is very easy to build yourself and cost effective. The added flexibility to decide your specific dimensions takes all of the guesswork out of trying to determine how big a prefabricated firewood rack should be. Extremely sturdy. Highly recommend.

So easy to set up and breakdown,very convenientWell made product

Good firewood racks. I ultimately bought two of them. The first came with everything needed (base units with drain holes, screws) but only one of the side stabilizers instead of four. No problem...I just cut a piece of 2x4 for each side and screwed them down into the tops of the uprights. The second unit came with everything, including all four of the stabilizers. Just installed the first rack and it appears strong and stable. I did go out and buy #8 x 1 1/2 inch screws rated for pressure-treated lumber; the screws that come with the units are easy to strip, plus I'm not sure what they're composed of or sealed with. Are they weather and rust resistant? In a few years, am I going to regret the few that I did install before switching to the guaranteed outdoor screws? Can't tell, as there's no information on the screws that come with the racks. Before buying, I looked at all the reviews with pictures. This was a good way to see what other people had done and to get ideas and tips.

Very sturdy easy to assemble

I needed a 4th rack and decided to try this. I also already had 6 eight foot 2x4s so those….it would have need nice to make the sides 5’ tall, but didn’t want to buy more lumber, so cutting an 8’ in half was perfect. The continuous steel bottom plate is perfect on my wood deck.This thing is sturdy as heck! Very robust.The listing indicates the 2x4 openings are 1.7 x 3.7, with is larger than typical dimensional lumber, so while lumber was easy to install, it is a bit wobbly. I decided to screw from the outside of the uprights to pull the lumber to the outside, let the split wood keep them pushed out. I didn’t use the inside upright screws.If I were to make the sides higher, like 6’ , I would consider getting a second kit to put two 8footers at the top, not necessary if you only go 4’ high.I didn’t use pressure treated, I may change it later.The nice thing is, if I need to store this, I’ll just get out my screw gun to take apart. The all metal racks would take forever to take out, and store.These are a great product, I wish I found these earlier.

Easy to assemble and it turns out to be amazing.

This is much sturdier than I expected from photos of the design. We could build a larger firewood storage with this if we wanted. As it is, it fits very well under cover just out the back door. I have just ordered another one for the workshop.I considered 4 stars because the wimpy, ineffective Philips head screws provided are inadequate if your 2x4s are at all firm. Philips screws should only be used where threads are provided. However, I can forgive part of the world not knowing about our Canadian robust and durable Robertson head wood screws. :) I can dab some black paint on them if I want them to match and not rust. Also, it would be beneficial if the supplier added a simple drawing to aid assembly. Refer back to the Amazon order page photos if you are unsure which way is up.I did take time to stain the wood - the results go very well with our country décor. A small wedge under the feet and a latch and eye keep the unit stable and properly level. This unit is 60 inches long and 40 inches high.

Nice and sturdy, project came out really well. You need to get the wood custom cut in S.Africa because the U.S. 2x4 size is non-standard, but any good lumber yard can do it. I also bought some stainless steel screws, the ones that provide are bad

Very stable and versatile product. Very happy overall but appreciated others commenting that a 2x4 doesn't fit! I brought the bracket into the store to find compatible wood.In case you are curious why a 2x4 bracket is smaller than 2x4, the explanation: "A standard US 2x4 actually measures 1.5 inches by 3.5 inches (1 1/2" x 3 1/2")". Thank you America for taking the imperial units to next level :)
