Rough Country stabilizer
Excellent product from Rough Country bolted right up to my 1998 Chevy Silverado extended cab 4x4. 100% increase on steering and stabilizing the oversized tires, took out all the wobble. Highly recommend this if you have a jacked up truck with oversized tires

work great
used this on my 2004 xterra xe 2x4 not made for this but with a mild mod to the frame bracket and another hole drilled it fit perfectly. made a big difference in the steering much more tighter.

WORKS GREAT! (but missing sticker)
My worn steering in my 25 year old van developed a wobble.. THIS FIXED IT PERFECTLY! It does EXACTLY what it is designed to do.For those who posted bad reviews claiming their product was defective because it didn't expand have NO clue how a steering shock works. It's a steering dampener.. there is no pressure inside pushing outward. If this were true, it would push your steering the same direction.. lolThis does appear to be a Chinese product (plain brown box, no markings on shock).. but works fine none the less. The brackets are very stout, and it comes with two different sized u-bolts. I custom fit it to my 4x4 van. I dinged it one star because I didn't get the Rough Country sticker.

Easy to install - a dampner is not a shock!
Was easy to install on my 1998 Tahoe, 4WD with no skid plate. You just need to be willing to drill the hole you need for the larger bolt in the larger bracket. Don't do any of this work yourself if you are not confident in your ability.Tools needed: 22mm, 21mm, 13mm, 14mm sockets and wrenches, drill, drill bits.Since the instructions suck (faded in my box) and so does RC customer service, install is as follows for a pre-99 OBS body style with no skid plate: with the wheel locked straight, install the driver's side bracket through the small hole in the crossmember with the small bolt for that assembly. Line the bracket up and tighten it down where you want it, then drill the hole for the bigger bolt out (it's very easy to drill). Install the larger bolt with the lock washer. Install the passengers side bracket on the steering bar with the ubolts that fit and the 4 nuts on the other bracket at the appropriate location down the bar. Install the rubber isolators and their washers on both inside ends of the dampner, then install it onto the drivers side bracket. Pull the dampner arm out to length and install the remaining hardware on the arm bracket. Double check tightness after testing steering travel a couple times! Easy as pie.

Great product
Install was easy and stiffened up my steering as advertised, helps to go ahead and get a new steering gear box anyways, mine was beyond help and this helped it last a little longer till I could get one. Great product

Quality control is awful with this company
Stabilizer seemed in good condition. The brackets on the other hand are a joke. The U bolts don't even fit in the bracket without having to bend and hammer them into the bracket. Next the bracket that you get doesn't even like up to anything. The bolt holes are off 1/4in from where they need to go what ever direction you put it. I'm not gonna fabricate something that should be "bolt on installation" rough country needs to get there quality control in check before people start going to a different brand. This is the 3rd rough country product Ive either had to send back due to bad fitment or bad quality.

Works great all parts there aka its a hydraulic damper (( NOT A GAS FILLED SHOCK ))
Easy to install, directions a little off dont tell you exactly or where to install the 9/16 bolt ... I mean you can figure it out just need to drill a hole where the mount is telling you to as your putting it on cross member... But all the hardware was there... Ohh for the guy that did the video about the shock not extending when taking the strap off.. ((( you shouldnt be messing with any vehicle steering))) This is a hydraulic damper... Meaning you were thinking a gas filled shock, and if it were, it would be constantly pushing your streering to one side or the other **** NOT SAFE*** please do not work on steering components or systems if you can not comprehend how this works, your family and mine depend on the safety of your vehicle...
