Can someone tell me the length of the trap from bottom of U to the top of the highest horizontal pipe exit?

From the bottom of the U to the top of the highest horizontal pipe exit is 6 1/8" - that's to the top of the horiz. fitting. The top of the PVC you would insert into that fitting would be 6 inches even from the bottom of the U. Just went and measured it.

In our humid area attic condensate lines are usually insulated. am i ok not to insulate the clear trap so long as it's over the drip pan?

Yes, it’s a tight fit. It may sweat, but the drip pan will contain whatever drips off for a years time without draining the pan. Be sure to brush the trap from all angles monthly.

How broad is this one end to the other, horizontal size?

Its common P-trap sized, about 6 inches depending on how you install it.

Is the assembly already glued, I need to re-orient the fittings?

This part needs to be sealed in place once installed.
