great features and price for a sturdy reliable LED flashlight
This is the second Outback Joey I have bought, my first one was about 10 years ago while visiting a museum store in the U.S. (I'm in Canada). It was my favourite flashlight to keep in the car because of the bright light, small size, magnetic base (hands free option) and flashing red option - great for being on the road. Unfortunately, I left the light in the trunk for an extended time with old batteries and they (the batteries) corroded. Happy to find an identical replacement product through Amazon. The light is sturdy, nice and bright and the 3 lighting options cover all my needs.

Joey flashlight first impression
First impression of the Joey flashlight is positive. The simple yet unique design is impressive. It has a light but solid feel to the hand and the main body is ribbed and seems to be steel, definitely not plastic. The lenses covers are good quality plastic. The bar light cover is flush to the main body but I am able to put my fingernail where the cover and metal meet. This makes me assume it would not be difficult for water to get into the area where the bulbs are. The button is solid plastic and when pushed has a nicely responsive "digital" feel as opposed to a plungery feel. The main buld is brighter than another led flashlight I own but it is stationary as opposed to a telescoping light. The bar light is also bright but not blinding if looked directly into. The magnet is located on the bottom and is strong enuff for its purpose of holding the light. I had no problem getting access to the batteries and thought it was a nice touch that the batteries are Joey Outback branded. There is no sound when I shake the flashlight and as I already stated it has a solid feel construction. Overall, besides the slight issue with the bar light cover not being completely seamless, I am satisfied and confident it will operate as expected and designed.

Not too reliable
Nice light, when it works. Not too reliable; has to be shaken, pounded and switched on and off sometime to get it to light.

My favorite car flashlight
You might think it is expensive for a flashlight, but I think it's amazing. I used these at work and had to have one for myself. I often end up working on my car after dark far from a convenient power source. The strong magnet allows me to position the flashlight virtually anywhere. The versatility of the front white light or the side white light are great to help me see what I need to. The flashing red lights would be great in an emergency, but fortunately, I haven't had to use that feature yet. If you couldn't turn your hazards on, you could stick this on the side of your car instead.

It is almost perfect!
I love these flashlights! They are bright in any of the three modes and the magnet is awesome (and the reason I bought them). 2 cons I can think of is that the batteries don't last as long as I had hoped for how often (or not) I use them. The other would be that for the magnet to work the entire surface of the magnet needs to be on metal for it to stay in place. The length and weight of the light will not allow it to stay if only partially touching a metal surface. These come in handy when working in darker areas or at night where you can switch to the second mode, pop it onto a metal surface and have both hands free to do the work, which was the case of having to replace a motorcycle battery at night in a parking lot where all I had were the tools in my truck.

Not very rugged
I got a good deal on my light, paid under $30. This is a great tool for someone that wants a light for their vehicle or home without abusing the light. Before I got a chance to even use the light, the red flashing light stopped working. I didnt know it until I tried to show my cool new toy to a co-worker. So much for selling someone else on the attributes of this light.

Just the thing for the car
I had long been looking for a flashlight for the car which could also serve as a work light in case of mechanical problems, yet would readily fit in the car. Stores (whose inventory buyers lack imagination and inititiative) have nothing suitable. I came upon this unit in Amazon, and decided to give it a try. I'm very impressed: very bright light, in both beam and work light functions, yet compact and not heavy. I was so pleased that I bought three more and gave them as Christmas presents. Thank you Outback Flashlights and Amazon!

Great, bright flashlight
Great, bright flashlight, worklight, and emergency flasher, AND strong magnet to hold it in place! this is my second one! ps, what ever you do, don't leave in alone with weak batteries, if they leak, this light is toast, thus my second!
