Machine work, fit, and finish is excellent. My devices charge at the highest rates based upon the output from the USB ports. I installed this in a 2019 Tacoma, in the location where the OEM "cigarette lighter" socket previously lived. The installation only took a small amount of relief to open the hole big enough for it to fit. Current draw of the USB port while idle (no devices plugged in) was a mere 9 milliamps so its not likely going to draw your battery down over night f you chose to connect it to a circuit that is hot all of the time. The volt meter function is off by about about -.2 (two tenths) of a volt over my precision $200 multi-meter so considering this is a $12 part, it still makes for an excellent indicator of system voltage - probably as much accuracy as you might get out of an analog dash gauge. I noticed that the volt meter drops by about .2 volts when I connect a cell phone to the USB port for charging. I compared this to a reading at the connectors at the back of device using my meter and only saw a difference of about .01 volts. The seller had sent an email asking if I was satisfied with the product so I mentioned my observations of the voltage drop. Without asking, the seller opted to send a second unit to me and did not want the old part back. I compared the readings of the new part and found that the voltage readings were off by about the same amount however the voltage drop when connecting a device was only .1 volt as opposed to .2 volts. Again, this is a $12 part and from my observations, it is an excellent value. My primary purpose was for USB charging ports and so far it does an excellent job at that. Although not as accurate as a $200 multi-meter, it still does a great job of giving you a good idea what the system voltage looks like. Oh, and the volt meter display is in blue. The display is quite a bit brighter than the rest of Toyota’s dash indicator lights and it might be a little too bright if you plan on mounting the socket up closer to eye level and near the driver. On the Tacoma, the OEM cigarette lighter socket is down low and closer to the passenger and is not a problem at all. I would highly recommend this part and this seller. And yes, I purchased this product with my own $$ and I have no relationship with the seller.

This is an extremely high quality charger/voltmeter. The shell is made of machined aluminum and anodized vs being painted. It comes with a tight fitting rubberized cover, so you know it's doing is job of keeping liquids out, instead of cheap hard plastic which will crack over repeated use. The voltmeter accuracy is great. I tested it against 3 different calibrated multimeters and the voltage read out was with .05 volts which plenty good for all application where this is used/needed. I installed this charger in my car to monitor it's charging output after numerous parts store alternator failures. The dual QC 3.0 ports, for me, was a bonus and works as expected(measuring up to 2500ma with my battery monitor app). Installation is very easy if you are looking to replace your factory outlet. The only modification necessary is to slightly enlarge the original mounting hole a tiny bit, which can easily be done with a file or Dremel. I have to also say, not only is this a great charger/ voltmeter, the company has great communication and is a pleasure to work with. I did have some issues with my first order. However, after contacting the seller my problem was quickly rectified. They were very understanding and quickly sent me out another charger, no questions asked. Not only that, they followed up with me a few days after receiving the replacement to make sure everything was perfect. Great customer service, like this, is rare thing now and days.

I installed it on a 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 400. Since it's is going on a motorbike, I had to ensure it is dust/water proof which is susceptible to rain, dirt, etc. The product is well built, it's attractive in looks, and the rubber tab seals the usb slots nicely. The aqua color is quite nice, especially at night time in dark. The motorbike had an installation mount point in the harness, and it fit in real snug. I had to use a lot of elbow grease and some sandpaper to widen up the mount point just a tad, and then it fit in snug. It has a built-in fuse, however, I had no need for it cuz the motor bike already has a built-in fuse in the circuit. Nevertheless, I installed it with a fuse for double protection. Looks great, works well .... now let's see how long it lasts!

It was very easy to install. Obviously only two wires to connect, positive and negative. For some reason, while the car is shut down, the voltage is very steady at 12.8-13.4. While the car is running, the voltage varies up and down erratically, but at too low of a voltage to charge an IPhone. Once I turn off the car, it steadies and a phone can be plugged in. I was able to figure out why the voltage was not steady. I had the positive lead from the lighting circuit of the old cigar lighter powering the unit. Once I switched to the cigar lighter positive lead, the USB charger worked as it should. I changed the review from 1 star.to 4 stars. The voltage indicator LEDs are brighter than I would prefer, otherwise it would be a 5 star rating.

I installed this in the front center console in a 2017 MB GLC300. There is a cigarette lighter in that 12v spot and I wired it up there. It was a little tight and took some time to tighten from the back side with the way my console was designed. I think the most important piece of information for others looking to purchase this item is that I was confused thinking it would remain on at all times but willing to risk the battery drain as it had been stated by others that it was nominal, even when the car was completely "turned off". I was surprised, happily, when I found with my car, that was not the case. When the car is parked and "turned off" the charger display disappeared and turned completely off. No voltage meter reading and no lights. Your car/boat/ATV may behave differently but it appears the unit does not always stay on. on all vehicles. One other thing, I like that it is actually aluminum and not all plastic.

I've used these in my camper, ATV , motor cycle and classic cars , on boats and I love that they have a voltage display so you can monitor you battery condition at a glance . Surprisingly there pretty water resistant too at least they've worked pretty good on my ATV & motorcycles so far shedding off splash's and light rain .

Works as intended. You may need to adjust the opening with a blade to get it through. Because of the fuse wires I was able to replace the cigarette lighter. Tells voltage of battery and both usb ports work. I think it's neat product.
