A great nail gun
This was recommended to me by a professional carpenter, and it ranks as one of the best tools I’ve purchased. It’s easy to clear jams. It’s great for small tight quarters, and it’s fairly light. Great Nailer!

pretty happy with this gun
after my Makita framing gun failed after 20 years i looked for a new gun. i bought this bostitch after reading good reviews.this gun is Great! it will take up to 150 psi for solid impact. i run it at 120 to 100. the depth ajustment is perfect for making sure you dont sink nails too far into subfloors. the variability of the ajustment seems more than adequate for any situation. especially if you have to extend the hammer to get into corners.also, the belt clip is really helpful if you can get it to sit right in your belt.thirdly, i really like the fact that it empties the nail clip completely so there is no jamming from having nails left in the gun from the last clip.fourthly, i thought the shroud around the point where the nail comes out might be hard to put against a stud for toenailing however i have absoutly no problem toenailing studs with it

Very nice framer
I have been in construction for a lot of years. (Turning 60 this year.) Most of those years when framing you would find me with a Hitachi nr83a in my hand. In 2013 I decided it was time to replace my trusty old gun with a bright shiny new one, so I dug out an old issue of Tools of the Trade and reread their test of the new compact - light weight framing guns. Next I went out and held each one of their three top rated guns and fell in like with the Bostitch Low Profile lpf21pl full round head nail gun. It was more than just the rafter hook and the compact size. It was the way it fit my hand, how the trigger could be used effortlessly with either my index finger or thumb depending on how I needed to hold the gun. Although I grew up with bump fire, I never liked it, so I liked the idea of being able to choose between the two with the flip of a switch. (I have not flipped the switch away from single fire yet, but knowing I could is a comfort.)The fall of that year we started a new custom house and to my utter disappointment I found that my shiny new gun would not work when the weather turned cold. Anything below 35 would cause the head valve to freeze. I tried every trick I knew. More than one type of winter oil, moved the water trap further from the compressor etc. etc. I broke down and bought a Hitachi nr90ae (one of the other highly rated guns) to get me through the winter. While I don’t have anything bad to say about the new Hitachi gun, the ergonomics are just not the same. Spring finally arrived and I could not wait to bring out the Bostitch. Vowing to find a cure before winter arrived again, I scoured the internet for clues. Finally I heard mention that Bostitch has their own special winter oil. I found it here on Amazon and bought some, what a welcome relief, I was able to use my favorite gun all through this winter. Even on a morning with temps down as low as 10 degrees. When comparing the two new guns, the Bostitch will fit into smaller areas than the Hitachi; but it will start to leave nails proud sooner if the air pressure is allowed to fall below 100 psi. For me personally I find the trigger on the nr90ae to be a step up from the one on the nr83a, but I still find it more difficult to operate then the one on the Bostitch. They are both very nice guns and I would recommend either one to anyone who makes his/her living here on the edge. For me the bottom line is, at the end of the day, do you go home feeling like you used a nail gun all day or a nail gun used and abused you.

Good nailers for the price
Good nailers for the price. I've got a few of these (as well as other brands) for my framing crew and the guys seem to grab these out of the truck first. They are durable and don't often jamb and have plenty of power for sinking 3.25" x .131 framing nails into LVL material. We usually use Hitachi brand nails because that's what our lumberyard stocks and these nailers don't like to be loaded with two racks of 2 3/8" x .113 ring shank nails as the racks ride over each other and the nailer will misfire, hence the deducted star. Could be that they work perfectly with Bostitch's proprietary nails however I feel that a nailer designed to be used in professional environment should be able to fire many brands of nails without issue provided the strips are the proper angle and collation.

Great framing gun
For about 6 years I owned the porter cable framing nailer and about a year ago it was leaking air and not able to sink nails. I took it to my local PC repair shop and was told it would cost about $125.00 to do a maintenance/rebuild on the gun. For a couple bucks more I could get a new one, so off to HD I went. I was going to buy another PC nailgun, but noticed the newer lighter Ridgid model and decided on it instead. I framed a half day with it and it was just a crappie gun. Couldn't set the nails in engineered lumber and was misfiring constantly when doing the sequential selection floor sheathing. Before I returned it I looked on amazon and saw this model and decided to chance it. It was smaller for tight spaces and seemed lighter based off of other reviews. It came a day later and I went to work with right away. I have had it for about a year and I really like it. It is smaller then my older PC gun and there is hardly any recoil when even going through some harder lumber. Only 2 small things I don't like is that it doesn't come with a case (bought a gun bag on amazon) and when the nail fires the plastic strip bits have a tendency to hit me in the face a lot more than my old PC gun. It isn't horrible just odd, but not enough to bother to knock off a star. Would recommend this to anyone.
