I wish these were more well known! I would've paid literally anything to prevent the accident that happened to my 2 year old. His thumb was nearly amputated by a door hinge while we were playing peek-a-boo and getting ready to go to the park. After two different ED visits, immediate surgery, and months inside a cast- they were able to reattach it and his thumb looks good as new. Thankfully! These guards are now installed on every door in our house. Front and back. They are super easy to apply and the matte version is hardly noticeable on my white, wooden doors. These have been on for months now and show no signs of coming off. They are also pretty thick! The only thing that may bother someone is that they pull on the door a little so the door doesn't stay open ALL the way. After our accident, I literally have zero complaints about these though. Buy the guards. Protect those tiny fingers. The guards are significantly cheaper than the hospital bills and the trauma that comes with it all. Worst. Day. Ever.

Quality of the shield is good- it prevent pinch damage and it bends when door moves and not cracking. The glue 3M band on it eventually does not hold into the door so it does gets disconnected. You need to replace the glue once in a while or have a more persistent way to attach it to the door.

I bought this for my front door to keep my cats paws from the door hinges. Works perfectly and our cat keeps his paws from getting slammed in the door! Super easy to install and stays put after sticking. I left it on all night to secure like the instructions suggest.

I installed these in my classroom Sept 2024. All year I’ve had complete peace of mind. Very easy to install and the adhesive has lasted. If you’re a teacher or mom concerned about your kids sticking their fingers in the door jam, this is an excellent choice!

Adhesive is too weak

Our church has a nursery with bi-fold closet doors. After my son almost got pinched in the fold, I searched for a product that might help. This was reasonably priced and said it would not work for a bi-fold door due to the flex popping the door open. This was true, but with a little ingenuity, one could use a magnet or a small latch at the top. Definitely better than a safety hazard in our nursery. So, I’m the end, this product worked for my bi-fold door...with some mods.

It works great for quite a while. But one side (inside the garage on the door frame) lost stickiness. When I went to replace it with a new one, the sticky strip on the door itself was on quite securely and ripped the paint off the door. Will have to have the door sanded and painted once we don’t need to protect our little one from door hinge injuries.

I installed it a couple of weeks ago in the garage side of the door between the house and the garage, and it works perfectly. It doesn't look as bad as I expected (It is in the outside so maybe it doesn't matter as much). There has been no peeling so far, even though it gets really hot in there and even though the door opens very wide and the plastic guard is really stretched. I lost some range in the door, I installed this in a way I cannot open it 180 degrees anymore, to avoid stretching the plastic too much, but I don't really need to open this door as much so I think it was a good decision. Installing it was very easy, and the adhesive worked perfectly. I saved the second one to replace this one when needed... I'll update when that happens, which I hope takes a long time.

Does the job and sticks well. Now my toddler can safely play behind the doors.
