delicious and good value for money , requires at least overnight soaking and at least two hrs cooking (to get a soft plump texture that melts in your mouth )a nice flavorful untextured bean,good quality for the amount ,a basic white colour which will absorb the majority of sauces or just plain with salt and pepper and a little butter..

Skins remain a little resistant after ample soaking, perhaps it is normal for 'giants;. Otherwise fine.

I got these in Jan and had them for a few months ands just cooked them this week. I soaked them for 12h and then boiled them for almost 2 hours on the stove til tender.While the consistency was excellent, the taste was vile. It was so bitter I could not even bring myself to swallow it. I am not sure if the beans were extremely old or if somehow it was a bad batch, but it was horrible. I had to bin the entire 500g batch I had cooked and hoped to freeze and use through the week. Not worth the money either, get tinned, it's a lot more convenient and at 40p to 60p per tin in most supermarkets, it is most definitely as good a great value and wont turn out bitter.

Great quality and superb value. Easy to cook and versatile for soups, stews etc. Taste and texture very good. Good size.

The whole bag cooked in 90mins salt added 25 mins before end of cooking time, and were soft and absolutely gorgeous! I am buying more of these as you can freeze cooked butter beans.They are good value for money as when cooked yield around 1kg.
