Not Too Shabby
I have the earlier version of this model Giannini GF-1C in natural color, which is the same, is the GS-1R. Bought it used and it need a string change. Decided to us D'Addario Nickle Bronze (instead of phosphor bronze) this time and WOW...this guitar came alive! It was a nice surprise. Has a medium deep tone, the preamp and pickup worked well with my Fender acoustic amplifier, and also sounds good as a stand alone guitar when un-plugged. The body is comfortable and not too heavy. I like the neck size and action since it is similar in width to my Giannini 12 string, although the nut came damaged being it was used and knocked around previously. With a new string change, it now almost has a vintage 70's/80's folksy country sound. Nut and saddle may be a bit low action for some tastes, mine will be changed out soon. If you can get one of these new or used, I highly recommend it. Check the similar model GC-1R, GD-1C or GS-1R.

Great Guitar for Cheap - Great for Beginners and Just to Keep Handy
Rating based on price vs. quality. This is a cheap guitar that does really well. I really recommend this as a starter guitar that will do you well. I picked one up used. Great buy for a cheap guitar. Action is good. Setup well and pretty true to tuning on the octave. Much better tone and setup than low end Takamenes and the like. Built in tuner does a great job. Four band eq and presence control gives this cheap little guitar a really decent sound. Again, 5 stars based on price. It's not a high end guitar, so it's not gonna compare to my Martin, but I'm not afraid to use it in a gig by any means. I keep a cheap Takamene Jasmine in my office, and it is just awful. This Giannini is going to replace it. 500 times better than that crappy Jasmine. It's not a laminate top, and the spruce top seems pretty porous, so it may not handle high humidity very well. Wouldn't recommend taking it camping without a case.
