I bought this armoire secondhand and I believe it had a TV in it at some point. It had plenty of space inside but no shelves, and I wanted to repurpose it into a linen cabinet without drilling holes or making permanent modifications. These ended up being the perfect solution.Installation was a little tricky by myself, and I do think having a second person would make the process much easier. That said, once everything was in place, I barely had to make any adjustments. The shelves feel sturdy and secure, and they've completely transformed the piece of furniture.I was so happy with the results that I recommended them to my mom after she found a similar armoire with the same problem. She bought these as well, and they worked just as well for her project.One of my favorite things about thrifting furniture is finding creative ways to make pieces work for my home, and these shelves have become one of those products I'll always keep in mind. If I ever come across another cabinet, wardrobe, or armoire that needs shelving, I won't hesitate to buy these again.Even though installation took a little patience, I wouldn't deduct a star because the end result was exactly what I was hoping for.

1000% misleading product description. THIS IS NOT A TENSION ROD SHELF!!! It has TINY loosen/tighten twist screws on one end but there are NO TENSION ROD SPRINGS within the bars on the shelf. There's no tension holding this together on the wall. The "expandable" part is held together by tiny screws, there's no locking mechanism to keep those in place and the entire thing is just praying you don't extend it to the full width or the thin metal will bend at the center under nominal weight. This won't be held by tension to the wall, it would only be held by the add-on stickers that come with it (wonder why). BAD PRODUCT. Returned immediately. False advertising. NOT A TENSION SHELF.

I might just be a dummy, but installing this was genuinely hair-pulling. The instructions were not as clear as I would have liked, maybe if they were more clear it would have helped. I do love that you don't need to drill anything, and it seems pretty sturdy after getting it fully installed. Solid product, just be prepared to have some difficulty getting it installed, maybe have an extra pair of hands. Also a bubble level would help a ton.

I used this to create an extra shelf in my RV storage closet. It also helps keep things organized and more visual. I think I wi be getting a couple more.

This is a really great shelf, but because of some review saying it was weak in the middle, I measured my space to be 37 inches and therefore got the larger shelf, so there was as much overlap in the center of the shelf with the metal as possible. The directions are terrible so I made a video. You need a drill to pre-drill the holes and you need to know that the bolt comes off and slips into a little hole on. That’s how it tightens. Also, make sure when you measure it you measure it with it at its shortest distance at the tightening end so that when you tighten it, you can get it to the perfect tension. Anyway, I made a quick video for you. There’s no way this is coming down. It’s very strong but you have to do it right

These are much better than I expected. The little clear plastic feet really help keep the shelf sturdy. I was expecting it to be a bit flimsy, but it's much better than I thought.
