National Wildlife Federation's World of Birds: A Beginner's Guide

It's lovely. My two cents is that I would've liked it to be on North American birds, since it is the National Wildlife Federation. But it has interesting facts spread throughout the book. There is no narrative - just snippets of text. For some reason my son doesn't like books laid out this way, so I ended up spending more time reading it than he did (He's 7 and a huge bird lover. I thought this book might throw in some not so common facts he wouldn't already know. It does, but the layout was too busy for him.) YMMV!

Beautiful illustrations and lots of great information. We especially love the poem about each species.

We know this artist's beautiful work from her years designing covers for NWF children's magazine, Your Big Backyard, and preordered several books as gifts for young relatives and friends. The books arrived today and we are extremely pleased with them. The book is delightful- full of amazing illustrations and equally amazing facts and anecdotes about birds. The quality of the book itself is also impressive, with embossing on the cover and an engaging layout.

Such a great book about birds! Each bird has two pages dedicated to it with facts, a cute poem, and lovely illustrations. Highly recommend.

Love this book on birds and I'm not a kid! Great little facts, trivia type info. on the birds. Covers the type of information the "written for serious birders" do not include. Would recommend for all ages.
