Some problems here
Got my keyboard dock and attached the ASUS tablet to it. Connects just fine with no issues other than user error. In other words, if I push the tablet screen away from me as far as it will go on the dock, it will disconnect and if I lift the tablet without supporting the dock it will disconnect. I recommend the Poetic Slimbook case for custom fitting protection and a snug fit between the keyboard and the tablet. I have small fingers so the keys on the keyboard feel roomy like a small laptop. I connect my wireless mouse using the usb port. I don't normally make a habit of using mousepads on laptops and that's also the case with this dock so I can't speak as to it's functionality. Using the mouse makes the tablet/dock combo feel more like using a computer. If you are looking for more of a laptop experience without losing the Android OS, this is the accessory for you. If you get it, make sure to get the Multi Battery Status app by GOOD4SOME1. It shows the battery percentages for both your tablet and dock on the left hand side of the status bar and it's free. Update 3/26: Having intermitten disconnect issues. Wondering if it would be best to return keyboard for an updated production date. Update 4/25: I kept the keyboard because of the great features it offers. I continue to have connection issues if I'm using it on any surface other then a desk. Even then, if I'm not careful, it can disconnect if I move the tablet too much. I don't think Asus plans on having any kind of recall or truly addressing the issue. It's a shame because this is an otherwise fantastic little powerhouse.

Doesn't work with TF700
I misread the model number and accidentally ordered this for my ASUS TF700T tablet. So I had to return it. The TF700 keyboard is so overpriced. I ended up ordering the TF201 keyboard and it works great. I returned it no problem.

Manufacturing Defects
I have done some checking and there are some of these with manufacturing defects. I think ASUS has corrected the problems with later batches. My first one had connection problems. My second on seems to connect okay with the tablet but the USB port will not power anything with a high demand such as an external hard drive or an mobile self powered hub with a couple usb flash drives. Bottom line- 5 stars if you get a good one, 1 star if you have defective connectors. Edit- Eventually I found the same connection problem with the dock. Insert an SD card, change the viewing angle, and the card will disconnect and reconnect. You can see the message "preparing external storage" in the notification bar every time this happens. It makes viewing a movie on SD of running any program accessing data on the SD card impossible. Also the dock does not continually charge the table as it should. Instead it will lose the charge connection allowing your tablet to drain. I have now been through 5 of these docks, all with the same problems! I only ordered the last couple because I read a comment here and the customer said that he called Asus, they acknowledged the problem, and that later manufacuted ones were fixed. I assumed when Amazon started selling them directly again after having them under review that I would get a good one but I was mistaken. I called Asus on the 12/13, 9 days after the customer whose comment I read said he called and was told Asus acknowleded the problem, and was told they knew of no issues with the dock. I even asked to speak to a supervisor and got the same denial. That means that either : 1- the Amazon customer lied 2- he hallucinated the conversation 3- The Asus rep he spoke to made up the story 4- The Asus rep and supervisor I spoke to both lied to me 5- Asus customer service/tech support exists in chaos and what you are told is just a matter of who you happen to speak to I see that Amazon has now stopped selling these docks and again has them "under review" so maybe there is still hope. I had the original TF101 and dock and I would really like to get a TF701 tablet/dock combo that works properly. After buying 5 defective docks and trying 2 tablets I am dropping my rating to 1 star. Edit 12/24- I received my 6th dock a a couple days ago. I was happy to see a manufacture date of 11/2013. The connection with the dock seemed tighter. I placed an SD card in and was able to change the viewing angle without it disconnecting the SD card. I was hoping my problems were over. Yesterday I noticed my tablet was draining while my dock was still at 100%; not good. I removed and replaced the tablet in the dock 5 or 6 times before I could get it to start charging. This morning I tried viewing a movie file located on the SD card in the dock. Changing the viewing angle repeatedly causes the tablet to lose connection with the tablet and to crash the video. Edit 1/7/14- I received another replacement dock yesterday. This is my 7th dock! Amazon sent me another defective dock with the same disconnect problem. The manufacture date is 10/2013. I cannot believe they are still shipping these. I ordered this 4 days ago and they went under review again (3rd time?) yesterday. I think as long as they keep shipping the earlier manufacture date stock they will continue to have problems and be putting these on review. Don't the Amazon people read the customer review? If they did they would know not to ship October manufactured docks. Customers are still saying Asus is denying a problem. Ridiculous!

backward step
I had the tf201 dock and the build quality was better. The rear cover now feels plasticky but the dock seems lighter but more importantly the dock docked with the pad much better, they both have a certain amount of movement at the hinge BUT it is considerably more on the tf701 dock. Asus eliminated the front lip/overlap at the junction of the pad and dock and this makes it very loose. Good one Asus you changed the design and made it worse not better !!!!. To be fair I haven't had any connection problems but it doesn't auger well for the future. The keyboard itself is good with imho a nice positive feel to the keys. Battery performance seems to be not as good as the tf201 dock but time will tell....the dock is a great addition to the pad BUT Asus you really need to fire your design management / test team they let the tf201 out with bad WiFi and GPS performance and then ruined a perfectly good design by 'updating' the tf701 dock. Update 17/12/13, Starting to get repeated connection problems. The keyboard doesn't hold the tablet well at all, it's very disappointing. It's still useable but poor design, I can just hope it's recalled after a fix is found. Given Asus's history on fixes I'm not too hopeful. Maybe Amazon can put some pressure on Asus to replace or recall this unit. The caps lock led has been removed on the keyboard, no covers for the connection apertures, and I still miss a delete key having only a backspace key on the keyboard. I love my tablet the only dark spot is this poor design on the dock. The flexibility of having a real keyboard is brilliant but given how good the Tablet is the dock experience leaves a bad taste.

I wanted a small laptop, but I wanted the convenience of a tablet. This gives me both, and works perfectly. When I'm watching TV, I can remove the keyboard, but when I'm working, I find the keyboard is big enough that I can type normally, which is a pleasant surprise (most small keyboards are more annoying than helpful). I highly recommend the Android Transformer and Dock. The Windows 8 one doesn't allow for complete integration with Gmail, etc, so I'm glad there's an Android Transformer, too!

Keyboard is quite heavy and the connection with the tablet doesn't always seem tight. Also, when charging the combined tablet/dock, the charge doesn't always pass through to the tablet - only the docking station charges. Somewhat frustrating. Works well sometimes but not always. Not as good as my previous TF301T version.

Combined with the TF701 Asus Tablet this makes a nice and compact Android solution for quick typing and long use.

there is a serious defect in this product, and my best advise is to STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCK. it constantly looses connection to the pad and as I am writing this review, I keep switching between the dock and the pad to type. if that's not annoying enough, the tablet shuts down majority of apps when the dock looses connection. If you were to watch a movie online or from your portable USB drive, and you give a slightest shock to the tablet, the dock would loose its connection and shuts down the video. this is just one of many many issues you'd face with this dock... this is actually my second dock as my first one did not even bother charging itself. Amazon was really quick with sending me the replacement and that's the only thing I'm happy about buying this dock. If you still are willing to pay for this crap, I advise you to go read the product reviews on amazon.COM, not amazon.CA. **UPDATE** So I sent my dock to ASUS for repair TWICE and it came back today for the second time. Amazingly, it still has the same issue!! I guess even their technicians don't know how to fix this thing. I am done with ASUS for sure. They paid for the shipping for the first time as a 'courtesy' but I had to pay for the second time. Again, I had the issue from the day this thing arrived.
