Exactly What I Was Looking For!!
I have many gallons of home made apple cider vinegar that I need to transfer into freshly sterilized 1 gallon glass jars for the aging process. I do this to be able to get only what I want which is everything from the bottom stopping just before drawing the very top vinegar scum/mother. I then recover the mother and bathe it in vinegar to clean off any unwanted remnants that sometimes form on the top surface to then return the mother to each freshly filled jar.
