I was looking for a replacement for an old Safco executive chair with padded armrests/bonded leather that I purchased at Fry's over a decade ago, best chair I've ever had but padding was gone and it was falling apart, and this chair matches up to it in both dimension and comfort on first use. Since it's tough to be certain of usable dimensions of a chair online, I'll break it down for readers (I'm an engineer, it's what I do): **Usable seat dimensions, from chair back to front edge x between armrests: 20.5" (D) x 23" (W) (The waterfall design means the cushion starts tapering down about 2" before the edge depth-wise) **Usable back dimensions, from top of seat where it joins the back to the top of the back x width at the top: 28" (H) x 22" (W) **Distance/clearance between armrests: 22.5" (W) **Width of each armrest x height from top of seat to highest peak of armrest x depth from back of chair to front of cushioned part: 2.25" (W) x 8" (H, occurring 4-5" from back of chair then sloping downward) x 13" (D) **Total length of armrest cushion: 14" (L) straight horizontally/perpendicular to ground, 15" (L) actual accounting for the curve (for armrest cover fitting), the back of the armrest cushion goes a bit behind the forward part of the back of the chair. Exterior chair dimensions (actual footprint, not usable seat/back space): **Seat: 22.5" (D) x 24" (W) **Back (bottom of back to top): 30" (H) straight measurement **Base is about 25" diameter **Lowest height of floor to top of seat (I put roller blade style wheels which are about 1" taller than the stock wheels, I have subtracted that out of measurements): 20" (H) **Lowest total height of chair: 44" (H) **Highest height of floor to top of seat: 23" (H) **Highest total height of chair: 47" (H) Other information: My elbows can rest comfortably on the armrests, they are high enough, which is not the case with a lot of chairs (and with airline seats). The armrest padding is not very plush but with the soft fabric it is very comfortable. I have shorter legs and at the lowest height, even with my roller blade wheels, my feet touch the floor. The seat portion feels like it tilts up a little from the tailbone to the knees, that is likely due to the waterfall design and I don't love that but it's not too bad, I just wish it were totally flat. The cushion is nice but feels like it may deflate over time, and only time will tell. Lumbar is good when you lean back, during normal desk work I will be sitting forward and my back will not touch the seat's back, and I'm OK with that, the back feels like it is leaning back a little but it is very comfortable when I want to relax and lean back for a few. The back is tall enough such that the height is almost as high as the top of my head, so my head is fully supported should I wish to rest it by leaning back--taller people will obviously hit higher, but I believe that even someone 6' tall will at least have the lower portion of their head above the neck supported when leaning back. Overall, I am very pleased with the chair. It arrived extremely quickly even without Prime shipping and was very easy to assemble. The fabric is soft and comfortable and a nice medium gray (I got the plush gray one). Only time will tell if the chair cushions hold up. Review: it's a tank - If you are tired of chepo office chairs but still don't want to break the bank this is the chair for you. It was unexpectedly simple to assemble and has a HEAVY duty under carriage with a wide plush seat and back rest. I upgraded the wheels to the roller blade style which are kinder to my hardwood floors, but the stock wheels seem to be as sturdy as the rest of the chair. This chair is substantially wider than standard office chairs but if you are under about 5' 10" you may find it a bit tall even in the lowest position. I'm 5' 11" and it's comfortable in the lowest position although my feet will still reach the floor if I raise the seat slightly. Only my toes touch the floor in the highest position. As should be expected in such a heavy duty chair it is noticeably heavier than many standard size chairs however it rolls around with ease on hardwood. It seems more than capable of supporting it's maximum load rating of 400 pounds. I read a lot of reviews before buying this chair because I was tired of cheaper chairs that wore out after a year or less. I was tempted to just spend four or five hundred dollars on a higher end chair but am really glad I took a chance on this one, as the quality is as good or better than I would have expected on a chair costing twice as much.

Solid, comfy, but don't put the decorative screw caps on the arms
Chair arrived in great condition, was really easy to assemble, and is truly comfortable, with a back high enough the rest isn't pressing at my back or giving me neck problems the way many other chairs do. Hydraulic lift works smoothly (if a bit abruptly) to give me exactly the height I prefer. Tilt & lock are solid, no worries. Arm rests are a good height, with an easy, ergonomic curve and good padding. The one negative aspect I can find after using this chair several months is, I need to tighten the screws to the arm rests at least once a week, as they work loose & the rests begin to wobble. Instead of putting away the allen wrench it came with & forgetting about it, I've kept it handy on top of my desk. For that, I can't give it a perfect 5 stars, but if it were possible to award partial stars, this chair would have earned a solid 4.75 โ better than "just passing", but not *quite* perfect.

Dang good chair
First of all, this is just a very good quality chair. It's well built, easy to assemble and comfortable. One note on assembly, don't tighten any of the bolts until all are in and everything is adjusted to place. Lines up everything better. Second, make sure the bolts are good and tight but no need to bend you wrench in the process and then after several hours of using the chair, go back and re-snug them. I did upgrade the wheels to the Lifelong wheels listed on Amazon. For a chair this good you should have the best of wheels on it just to finish out the product. Much better than the OEM wheels. Finally, this is a chair for big folks, either tall people or ones who may be a bit broad in the beam. I'm 6'2" and 270 pounds and there is plenty of width in the seat and height left in the chair for anyone bigger than myself. The seat depth is such that someone with shorter legs might even want some kind of a pillow behind them. For a larger person needing a good desk chair, this is one to consider. I'm pleased with mine.

So far, so bad.
UPDATE: 8 months in, the cylinder stopped working. I've had $40 office chairs last three times as long as this one. Absolutely ridiculous. Save your money. You're going to end up with garbage, you might as well pay the appropriate price. Stick to a cheap office chair. It was easy to put together, pretty comfortable, and feels more durable than most chairs I've bought. Even so, I feel like the price is a bit high. Day 1: The chair went together easy. All the parts are metal, as opposed to plastic like many chairs use. I'm hoping this means that it will last longer, though I worry about the welding where the wheels snap in. It's definitely a larger chair. I'm 6' and 315 lbs and I have to stretch a bit the fully seat myself in it from standing. My dad's a bit taller and maybe 30 or 40 pounds heavier, and I got the chair for him, and he is pretty pleased with the comfort. I do think that they could have been some more padding inside though. It feels as though it's a bit understuffed. The arms are nice and solid once you have them screwed in. Many chairs have arms that screw in under the seat and have no support, So they take a lot of abuse as you inevitably use them to help get up, or reposition yourself. Not these. The back of the arm screws into the chairs back, and the bottom of the arm screws into the seat, and it doesn't give when you put weight on it. The wheels are standard, extremely cheap plastic wheels. These are one of the problem Parts with these chairs when heavier people use them. I'm concerned that they will start to give out and break before their time. Fortunately, we have some higher quality ones stashed away in case that happens. The shaft feels pretty heavy and sturdy. This is another problem part with these types of chairs. They start failing and not holding pressure, so you can't keep the chair pumped up, and it always sinks to its lowest position. As the title says, so far, so good, but with such products you really can't give them a proper, full rating and review until months after you've gotten them. So time will tell. If I remember, I'll update with any developments.

Clatina Big and Tall Executive Office Chair
The chair is relatively easy to assemble, comfortable, has good back support, and is large enough. However, my main complaint is that the backseat height dimension was advertised as being 31.1 inches from the seat to the top, when in reality, it only measures 27.5 inches. As such, it provides no head or neck support for me, even though I'm only 6 feet tall. Unfortunately, the advertised height dimension is the main reason I bought the chair. Secondly, the chair leans too far forward. Finally, I had to buy some 3-inch casters as the puny 2-inch casters that came with it don't roll very well. I'm not sure about the chair's durability, as I've only used it for a couple of weeks. I'll update it on that later.

Very Nice Chair
Now that I'm working from home I needed to get a better desk chair for my home office. Being 6'5" and 350 lbs., I needed something more heavy duty then the run of the mill desk chair. Two biggest concerns were length of seat pan and weight limit. Next was comfort for long periods of work time. This chair took care of all of those needs. Seat length is perfect for longer legs. Plenty heavy duty and has a nice cushion & feel for comfortable setting. I'm hard to please (per my wife) and this chair was a very good purchase. Only wish would be for a higher lumbar support. But I can use a small pillow for that. Thinking I might upgrade the wheels. Not that they are bad, but I just normally upgrade the wheels. If your big and tall, this chair does the job far better than most. I'd buy it again.

No issues so far
I must admit that I did modify this chair a little bit because I've had some bad experiences with buying big and tall chairs. So I decided to build my own. I took one reviewer's advice and I purchased another piston for the chair and the rollerblade casters. At the lowest height this chair is exactly the right size for me. I am 5 ft 8 and weigh about 400 lb and when I sit at my desk my feet are flat on the floor with the chair is its lowest height. The last chair that I had was a big and tall that I purchased from one of the big box stores. After sitting in the chair for approximately 30-40 minutes, the chair would start leaning forward and was extremely uncomfortable. I have yet to experience anything close to that with this chair. The Clatina ergonomic big and tall chair is nothing but comfortable in all aspects of the word. With the heavy duty piston and casters that I bought this chair cost me approximately $275. Well worth the price...in my opinion.
