Ultimate Guide to Hyungs not Tang Soo Do as a whole.
PA fantastic book on forms. Not so fantastic on things like Il Soo Sik (one step sparring) or other aspects of Tang Soo Do. If anything it's an ultimate guide to hyungs as well as to some of the basic techniques not generally covered in most books on Tang Soo Do. I would recommend this book be supplemented by a book on applications of forms or "Bunkai," if you're look on how to actually apply the techniques. Also these are the traditional forms which more-so resemble the forms of traditional Okinawan Karate-Do & won't be of great use to those practicing World Tang Soo Do or other forms of American Tang Soo Do/American Karate that have broken away from the original Kwan.

Really helpful
A great resource for the new practitioner of Tang Soo Do. This book has helped me to come back home after training at the dojo and practice. The book has really helped me advance at a quicker rate then just studio time alone. However if you want an in-depth study of Korean martial arts this isn't the book for you. The book provides a brief overview of the history of Tang Soo Do yet it is far from comprehensive or authoritative.

Perfect Training Tool!
This book is so helpful in Tabg Soo Do Training. Grandmaster Lee was an amazing instructor and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to train with him. This book is great for referencing when trying to clarify details in techniques and forms.

Fundamental!
I love this book! It is my bible on forms. As a traditional Tang Soo Do practitioner, it is an invaluable resource for tweaking my forms and techniques so that I am consistent with the intent and execution that has been handed down by our founder, Hwang Kee. Grandmaster Lee is the oldest still-practicing Tang Soo Do master, trained directly by Hwang Kee. He still travels to member schools of the ITF-UK and hands down the powerful legacy of our art. PLUS, this book is extremely inexpensive when compared to other similar books. The author was not out to make a buck, but to continue the tradition of Tang Soo Do.

It is helping me to learn faster..
This book consists mostly of photographs of hand and foot techniques and of the forms. As a beginning student I find these very helpful, as when it comes time to practice at home I sometimes have forgotten the new things learned in the previous class. The verbal descriptions that go with the photos are clear. In addition, newer students will find the Korean/English, English/Korean glossary of terms helpful. The author has also included a brief (too brief) history of Tang Soo Do and a lineage chart, but for me these are not the strong points of the book. Also, I would have liked to see a little more about the philosophy behind this martial art; however, the photographic explanations of the moves make the book well worth the price.

After being out of training for almost 10 years this book really helped me remember the hyungs. The pictures are easy to follow and it explains each move in depth. I would definitely recommend this.
