Brilliant bit of kit.
To be honest, I didn't really expect that much from this and because I didn't want to waste too much money, I opted to make a bin out of scrap 3/4" ply rather than buy a plastic drum. It does the job and the cyclone attached securely and there's no chance of it imploding but it is heavy and un-wieldy! If you're want to do something similar, just remember to seal all the joins with mastic and I put draught excluder on the top lip so the lid didn't leak. The pipe fitting turned out to be much simpler than I originally thought: You can see in the picture that I have a 50mm, 90 degree bend attached directly to the outlet. The gaffer tape is really only to prevent it moving, the join is tight enough. The inlet just used one of the supplied fittings and a couple of wraps of gaffer tape on that made it fit snugly to my flexible hose. Perfect!I'd deliberately not swept up the workshop floor for some time as I wanted to see what this would do: I was amazed! I know the physics of it and it can't make the suction more powerful... but it seems to. Everything just disappeared up the pipe. Even better, I found an old Dyson hoover wand and found that again with a bit of gaffer tape, it fitted perfectly inside my 50mm flex-hose: The floor has never been cleaner! After that major workshop clean-up I didn't find any more dust in my vac than it started with!Having proved it works (and how!) I'm now going to do a better job of fixing the vac and the storage box together. I'll probably make the box smaller as well and just accept that it'll need emptying more often. This is a brilliant bit of kit and I wish I'd bought it years ago. As long as you make sure to minimise the air leaks in the system, it'll work well.

Works perfectly
I am building my own wardrobes and decided to try this cyclone. It came much quicker than expected and the end pieces did fit on the main cyclone (lots of reviews said they don’t, but mine were fine). Cut a hole in a bucket lid, fixed the cyclone on top and temporarily used duct tape to attach hoses as I have not yet received my reducer pieces. Attached lid to bucket and switched the (empty) Henry vac on. Proceeded to hoover all the ash from the bbq. It ALL went into the bucket and my vac remained completely empty. This will be so handy for cleaning our wood burning fire and I have even cleared leaves and bits from my patio. As well as sawdust extraction of course! My husband was very sceptical but he is amazed how well it works. Brilliant little device. Beware though, the suction is strong and will collapse the bucket in on itself, if the nozzle blocks. Mine already has creases in it so I will try to source a stronger container.

Does the job well
Great product. I added this to a 40l barrel to make a dust separator for my Vacmaster and the suction power is not reduced at all. Biggest issue is the size of inlet and outlet didn't match any house or adapter I had. Took weeks of trial and error with buying adapters. Shipping also took over a month, clearly came from China, not a UK fulfillment. Had great instructions, but was missing the drilling template that it referred to which was a pain

Works well
Wanted to upgrade my DIY store 1250 Watt vacuum cleaner, which has a fiddly and easily clogged cloth filter. Plenty of choice of cyclone filters online. Glad I picked this one. Reasonable price, delivered ahead of ETA, plastic construction seems sturdy, comes with nuts/bolts for fixing to container (I use a plastic bucket with tight fitting lid), also two hose adapters. Had to fiddle with the adapters to fit my vacuum cleaner hose, but not the fault of the product. Suction is good, and all the cr*p I've hoovered up has ended up in my collector bucket. Can't speak for long term usage, but looking good so far. Recommended.

Not perfect. By any means, But for the price, I will see if it works.
The adapters for the inlet and outlets do not fit the item.I had to carefully use a dremel with a sanding wheel to adjust the adapters and pipe they are supped to fit to get them to fit.You can not fit a pipe into a pipe of the same size. The outside diameter of the fitting needs to be the size of the inside diameter of the thing you want to stuff it into. They are the same sizes as the pipes they are supped to go into. The Instructions are in very bad Chinglish. It is either total pants or effective. If it works, I will be happy, if it does not it was not too expensive.Edit.I finally got round to installing it on my blasting cabinet. It took some time and effort. Not Because of faults with the product, but because adaptor plates etc had to be made. The dust-extraction point on the cabinet was 8cm, this has a smaller inlet pipe, maybe 4cm.Then, once it is on the cabinet one has to make a dust collection pot to attach to the item, and then attach it, more adaptors. Then one has to attach the vacuum supply. Yet more adaptors. There are no standard sizes for any of the fittings, so one has to make something to get a 48mm vacuum cleaner hose to fit snugly into a 49.6mm cyclone dust extractor....Now it is all attached successfully I have to take it all apart, and glue it together.BUT: it works! Now, when using my blasting cabinet, the majority of the dust the vacuum sucks out of the cabinet ends up in the collection pot attached to this dust separator, meaning the filter in the vacuum does not block up every 15 minutes.

It works well
It does the job well I simply attached it to a dustbin and connected the hoses and now my filter on my shop vac stays clean with 99.9 of debris in the dustbin. I unscrewed the attaching ring to make a template to bolt it to the dust collector. It comes with 4 nuts bolts and washers to attach the unit to the dust collecting bin and two inserts for the suction connections and two jubilee type clips. My initial concern was that it was quite small but this was poor judgement on my part as it functions very well in practice.

It works!
The cyclone was bought to build a big capacity shop vac mainly for gathering sawdust. I sat the cyclone on a sealed blue bin, and the whole lot on a Nilfisk commercial vac. Been using it for 4 months now and not had to change the paper filter in the vacuum cleaner - it all goes in the blue bin.
