Unreliable.
Theres a huge warning label on the deck that says, "Do not unplug, use the shutdown option in the software", well by UPS back up battery didn't know how to do that it self. Now just keeps rebooting and never boots up the system.

This unit is only "good" - but the remote access is excellent.
Update 1/21/19: Sometime in the last few months, the hard drives died and the unit stopped recording. As it still displays "live" pictures, and the record indicator, we have no idea when it actually died. We tried to review footage after a theft and that was how we found out. :(Just like many of the reviews I write ... "I like it, BUT ..." I bought the unit because it had additional monitor outs (spot, monitor, VGA and HDMI and was 32-channel. 1) This unit is SOOOOO slow. While displaying all images on the screen, double click a camera to bring that camera fullscreen. Double click again to return to the display of all cameras. This step takes a long time in comparison to different dvr I own. 2) It is a 2U unit which makes it slightly difficult to connect all the cables correctly. I used a small screw driver in the "ridges" of the bnc connectors to turn the connector and lock into place. 3) I LOVE the remote use. The app, SuperLive Pro is wonderful! [When you press the number of cameras to show on screen, it gives you a chance to choose which cameras to view. I wish you could press ONCE to cycle to the "next" group of cameras, etc., and TWICE to get to the menu to choose WHICH cameras to view]. But the app works really well. 3) Searching: There is NO backward search (which means, you can't get to a point in your recording and move in reverse). I also find searching to be slow and I can't review as I drag the time bar. 4) The DDNS feature DOES NOT WORK. I have accounts with multiple services listed and regardless of which setting, the DDNS broadcast did not work. I finally went back to my router and inputted the DDNS info there so that I could access this unit from outside our network. 5) Color is degraded when run though the unit. I set-up two monitors -- one running from the spot/monitor output of the Aposonic and the second directly from a camera using a y-connector. The color from the y-connector was great while the Aposonic monitor color was "whited out". I have a better (faster and easier) dvr unit in another location that has TERRIBLE remote access and will probably buy another Aposonic to connect with this unit just for their remote app.

No PTZ ports
No PTZ ports. I have 20+ cameras in and need to add two PTZ and I cant. Waste of money.
