It handles 4 sets of 8ohm speakers well for an outdoor sound system.
I have the PSLSW4 4-zone speaker controller but they also make a 6-zone controller.I have this mounted on my covered patio and it is fed from a Bluesound Node audio streamer and a Fosi Audio TB10D amplifier. My Fosi amplifier puts out about 100watts a channel at 8ohms with the upgraded power supply. The Pyle speaker selector will accommodate 2 separate input devices. A or B so you could have different sounds playing in different zones. I am only using zone A. The preferred zone is selected with a switch adjacent to each volume control. It is either A or B but to turn off individual zones to be OFF, you must rotate the volume knob to OFF. The volume knob click into each volume level - it is not a smooth rotating dial but it works fine. There is no crackle or pop when moving the volume control knob. the back of the unit has plenty of room to connect the speaker wire either directly or using a banana plug. There is no balance control for right to left channel adjustments.I am feeding 2 sets of patio speakers and 2 sets of rock speakers out in the yard and all are fed with 14awg wire. All my speakers are 8ohms. My speakers sound fine and they get loud enough for adequate sound. This is an outdoor background sound system and it won't sound like a rock concert in your backyard.Make sure your amplifier is stable down to 2ohms if you will be playing all 4 speakers simultaneously. If only one speaker is ON it will see an 8ohm load on your amplifier. If any 2 speakers are ON, your amplifier will see a 4ohm load. If any 3 speakers are ON your amplifier will see a 3.1ohm load. The Fosi class D amplifier I am using is rated from 2 to 8ohms.This switch can handle up to 100watts RMS input with 18watts RMS output per speaker output. This switch is passive so it doesn't require any power source.

Rare occasion that I write a review
This passive speaker select/volume controller fit exactly what I needed. I have a multi input amplified mixer that directly feeds a set of monitor speakers for my drums, and a Bose L1B2 that I use vocals, and Bass fed through the headphone jack during band practice. I kept having to disconnect my speaker cables during band practice because The mixer would not allow the speakers to be reduced in volume and still generate enough output for the Bose. This Pyle unit has 4 speaker controls which is overkill for me, but the volume control works amazing, and if needed a simple button disconnects all speakers. A little bigger than I needed space wise, but works amazing.

Works as described
Works great for managing which sets of speakers I want to play at any given time, and for being able to control the volume to each set for balance. Would have given it 5 stars if it had protection to balance out the impedance load (ohms), but fortunately, my amp doesn't seem to mind the load.

The Selector Switch exceeded my expectations.
I have a nice receiver/amp with 2-Channel input/output. I needed a Speaker Selector Switch to control 4 discrete listening zones from the two different inputs. The Pyle PSLSW4 Multi-Zone Speaker Selector System is just what I wanted. The unit was incredibly packaged which is a good indication of the quality of it's contents. The unit was easy to install especially with the Sewell SW-29863 Deadbolt Banana Plugs (also purchased from Amazon). Once connected it was very easy to adjust the volume to the front and rear ceiling speakers in our great room to extract the best stereo affect. When entertaining we can have lower volume inside and more volume outside on the pool deck. Really improves our flexibility for entertainment. It is not an Amplifier so your Receiver/Amplifier needs sufficient power to drive all of your speakers.

Pyle PSLSW4 speaker selector did not work.
I currently have patio speakers connected to Yamaha RV-V640 Zone B speaker connectors and wanted to add a set of kitchen speakers to Yamaha RV-V640 Zone B speaker connectors. I attempted to install Pyle PSLSW4 speaker selector (via A Amp connection) to my Yamaha RV-V640 Zone B speaker connectors and then connect my patio and kitchen speakers to the Pyle PSLSW4 speaker selector. I used 12ga monster wire on this and all speaker connections in my house. Problem is that no sound comes out of the patio or kitchen speakers when they are routed thru the PSLSW4 speaker selector. Tried all viable on/off combinations the Pyle buttons and volume controls. Nothing worked. Sent email to Pyle support; got no response. Now I have to find another product.**Follow-up: I finally got a notification from the Pyle vendor to call them if I needed help with the product. Called them and they had me go thru some basic debugging, then told me the product was probably defective. Returning product to Amazon. May try again after Christmas holidays. FYI ... The reason I wanted this product was because it supported banana plugs, 12ga wire, plus had volume controls. None of the other products had these features.

Creative Thinking to make work with 5.1 system
I have a 5.1 system inside and 2 speakers outside. This is a 4 speaker pair setup which you would think is perfect... well no... only has 2 inputs. So this means front speakers on one channel, 2 inside and 2 outside (Button A). Surround on #3 channel (Button B.) Boom... done. BUT... have sub woofer and center channel so need to unplug subwoofer and ensure that center channel is not on. Had to buy remote transmitter/receiver for outside sub. It works good. I do not believe sound quality has been compromised. I cannot hear any difference when I have everything turned on vs. just inside or just outside. This would be perfect for 2 channel systems with 1 amp or 2 amps or 4 channel system and 1 amp. I could not find a 5.1 system for under a ton and 1/2 of money!

Works Great!
Controls 4 sets of speakers and able to use 2 seperate amps. I like being able to listen to the sounds that different speakers put out. I have 4 sets of speakers ( from large floor standing to bookshelf ) hooked up for my front speakers in a surround system. I am able to turn any speakers on or off and can also control the volumes of each to mix n match ( so to speak ). This unit has worked perfectly, and is solid. Would definitely buy it again.
