Vervaco Cross Stitch Tablecloth Kit, 32 x 32 inch, White Birds

The quality of this fabric is excellent, but I cannot say so about the rest. The tablecloth is pre-printed with the pattern and at first glance, would suggest a simple but elegant project. Trying to follow the pattern as printed on the fabric results in an untidy mess. To improve the look of the finished tablecloth, it's necessary to count the threads for each stitch and as the weave is very fine, is the most frustrating embroidery I've ever undertaken. It's a good thing the pattern washes out! If this was something for myself, I'd send it back but as it's for an anniversary gift, I will have to persist.
