HIghly recommend this buffered, non-acidic, high quality vitamin C in the form of Calcium Ascorbate! This supplement is a LIFESAVER for me as I have severe IBS-C with multiple food intolerances (and trouble with anything acidic). Unfortunately, I don't do well with most foods and most vitamin supplements. Fruits are especially problematic for my digestion. No way could I manage to get enough vitamin C every day (and not feel terribly sick) without taking Ester-C. I think that the gov't recommended min. daily amount of vitamin C is far less than what we need to be at our healthiest. We actually need a lot more than that RDA. Taking extra Vitamin C can help with so many different health conditions. You may be low-level deficient and not realize it. Deficiency can manifest as depression, fatigue, poor circulation, and poor digestion. For a while, I was having only ~12 mg/day from food; during that time I had no energy; I felt lousy. Now I'm having 1000 mg in Ester-C; I feel much better! So grateful for this product. {edit:} I am now taking 1500 mg in Ester-C and find that this is helping me in a lot of ways.

Over the years I have tried to take vitamin C supplements. Every brand I tried made my stomach burn terribly. That all ended when I found this brand several months ago. Just open the capsule and pour on a spoonful of moist food and surprisingly if you mix right in with their dry food they eat it right up! And remember, canines are omnivores - felines are carnivores....your pup can eat apples, grapes, Mellon, etc, and survive whereas a feline will die without meat. Giving your pup some extra C does nothing but help their immune system and perhaps put a little perk in their step!

Ester-C is a staple for me. I buy and re-buy and re-buy. If someone told you to try this and you're skeptical, don't be. It's non-acidic, you can take as many as you need without food or milk, and they're great to keep handy at work full of people who won't stay home when they're sick. Just make sure you're ordering capsules if you want capsules or pills if you want pills. I've tried both and fancy the capsules. I seriously think this is my 3rd review on this...what's up with that?
