Anne Shirley Complete 8-Book Series : Anne of Green Gables; Anne of the Island; Anne of Avonlea; Anne of Windy Poplar; Anne's House of ... Ingleside; Rainbow Valley; Rilla of Ingleside

Apparently this will appear under my husband’s name (Scott) but I am his wife and I don’t know how to make it show my name!! Haha! Anyway, I absolutely loved re-reading this classic series that I first read as a child many years ago. It would have been SO expensive to buy the paperback set, but it was SO reasonable in Kindle format. LM Montgomery is a masterful story teller, and her lovely descriptions of nature as well as the inner thoughts of her main characters make this series enrapturing. Reading them this past couple of months has helped me stay positive and find some joy in a difficult situation during the Covid-19 lockdown.

The first book was recommended, so I read it and couldn’t stop until I read them all. I would highly recomment readiing them all. I have read nothing else until I could finish the series. This is a must read!

This is the second time I’ve read the whole series, and love it as much as my first time I read it.

You know the character, Anne Shirley, the irrepressible optimist. You see her grow and mature in a world that has been left behind by the rushed days that most of us live in. But people, life and drama remain the same and when set in a more relaxed, and for me, relatable time. For the price a whole lot of fine entertainment.

I read one short story in this series when I was in 8th Grade. Hadn't given it a thought since. But I am going to P.E.Island this Fall and I wanted to ready about it again. I loved it. I will admit that sometimes Anne's imagination and her soliloquys were too long. But when that occuirred, I just skipped to the next action. It was refreshing. Makes me realize that life doesn't have to be complex, expensive, nor bought to be full. Maybe I appreciated this more since I have already finished my own childhood, my children's childhood, and now am in the midst of my grandkids' childhood.

One of my favorite series, now collected in a single e-book, exactly the way I wanted it! It's been a few months since I finished dipping into this collection, but I think I remember some minor editorial shortcomings. I wish I were to be assigned the job of editing this! At any rate, this will not upset any but the most picayune readers, who might get dispatched by the virus, anyway . . .

I’ve loved these stories my whole life. And to be sure they have reminded me about love, laughter and imagination. Truly timeless.

At 78 I am trying to read some of the classics that I missed as a youth. Though I had read Anne of Green Gables, I had not read any of the others. I have enjoyed several days of catching up on these charming stories. Lucy Maud Montgomery was a talented writer, and I learned some things about Prince Edward Island, and World WWI as an added benefit of reading these stories.

Gostei muito. Muito bom para treinar conhecumentos em inglês.

My kids love the books so much! I am very happy to buy them.

The author depicts human beings and human nature in a wonderfully pure and natural style. Enjoyable reading ... Truly touching!

I've always loved the Anne books but never read past Anne's House of Dreams. I loved the stories of her children and especially Rilla in the last book. I wish they would make a movie of the Rilla book, it is such a touching wartime story!
