What style bridge does this come with? I’m a bit heavy handed and don’t want clangy strings

It's a tremolo bridge. I tend to be a bit heavy handed too (I'm primarily a bass player) and I use heavy picks and haven't had a problem.

is this comfortable for small hands?

Back in high school, had a classmate that was short with tiny hands, but played better than anyone, even on a full-scale p-bass with it's thick neck. The 24" scale will be easier on your fingers stretching for fretting, and the 7.25" radius will be more comfortable for chording (but might slow you down a bit if you're trying to shred). The neck profile will sit comfortably in your hand, and unless you have the hands of a six year old, everything else is going to be up to time and building comfort with the instrument.

Can I get Nirvana tone from this guitar?

it has to hot single coil alnico 5 picks plus rhythm circuits. you can get most tones out of it.

Does the jazzmaster body shape cause the guitar to hang from your body with the neck tipped up rather than hanging parallel to the ground?

The offset body allows the guitar to rest rather balanced on the player.
