Expedition Scout Men's 40 mm Watch

I have a small watch collection, including an Apple and a few more expensive ones. So I was looking for an inexpensive watch that I didn’t have to worry about when I’m doing gardening and other projects. At the same time, I wanted one that didn’t feel plasticky and unsatisfying to wear. I’m glad to recommend that the Timex Expedition fits the bill perfectly. Nicely weighted brass case (which feels substantial and much more expensive than it is), and a very crisp dial, I’m happy to wear it on any occasion. My wrist is about 19-20cm and the leather strap supplied fits me perfectly. With numerous colours to choose from, you can’t go wrong for a no nonsense but handsome daily watch.

I bought this for everyday wear as a solid simple watch, reasonably priced, that does not have be removed when working. It's a great, really good looking watch and feels well made nice solid metal case with a quality leather strap. Easy to read.

Initial impression good. I've heard people complain about loud ticking in Timex Expedition watches but this one (Expedition Scout) is practically silent. At a few inches from the ear it's audible but quiet. Anything much over a foot I can't hear it at all. The indiglo feature is excellent. Very easy to read in the dark. This combined with the 50m waterproofing should make it a good, practical field watch well-suited to outdoors activities including camping. Pick the right colour/design option and it will also work for smart-casual wear. The day-of-the-month window is tiny; if you use reading glasses you will need them to read the number. But at least it's there. Not going to complain given the price. Good value. A budget analogue dial is so much nicer than a digital watch.

Lets not beat around the bush this is a cheap watch and my expectations were fairly low. I bought as I went on holiday without a watch and got it delivered to our hotel. I had to correct the time more often than I probably expected at first, but that does seem to have settled down a bit. Crystal and case have stood up to fairly careless wear pretty well. Strap is not going to last for years however. The indiglo feature works well (unless you're a sniper target I guess). In summary I think it looks pretty good, tells the time and from a distance could be mistaken for a £2K Tudor watch I saw in a jewelers window the other day. For the money I would recommend it. Update after 18 months. Strap gave up the ghost after 15 months, but otherwise still going strong. Timekeeping is not great, seems to need resetting from a couple of minutes slow every month. To be honest if it kept time better I'd give it 5 stars (at the price).

The accuracy is not perfect, but simply in the average of good quartz watches. The hands are aligned although the second hand has a little gap that make it a bit misaligned depending on the position you have the watch while looking at it. Tipical of this model (Expedition Scout) is the delicacy of the crown: it's renowned to break quite easily, so I always try to pay attention to it. This means I cannot say how tough it is. Only hours and minutes hands are luminous, while second hand, numbers and indexes aren't, and the luminous hands aren't very bright (I don't know how long they last), but everything is compensated by the Indiglo backlight that works perfectly.

...this watch is so cheap. I bought this back in May of last year, so less than a year ago. Yesterday, the Indiglo function broke. The switch still works as there's a tiny portion of the watch that still illuminates at the bottom of the dial. I contacted Timex about a warranty repair and was told two to three months to have the work done!! It hardly seems worth it for a feature that I barely use, and one that, due to the oversized crown, I found myself unintentionally activating on frequent occasions. Talking of the crown, it is frustratingly easy to catch on everything from sleeves to bag straps - I wonder if this is the reason that so many reviewers complain that the crown simply broke off after a little while. Other than that, it's an okay watch, the strap stains fairly easily, the case gets scratched pretty easily too, but it looks okay despite this. It's smart and its cheap and I've had compliments about how nice it is, but the overall durability and practicality don't really impress. I don't think I'd go for another.

Nice looking watch that feels solid but the face scratches really easily. Wore mine for day to day use for a couple of days (no sports or DIY etc whilst wearing it) and it has a number of readily visible scratches across the glass already. Wouldn’t buy again.

Looks nice and fits well. Easy to read, even in the dark and so far no problems at all. The leather wristband is very comfortable and doesn't sweat.

It is a watch from Timex' huge range of (quartz) watches. This is a mens watch with a clear dial, as should be in a Timex Expedition Scout Field Watch, no doubt. The clear mineral glass window is very scratch-proof, so no worries there, either. The Snoopy-featured dial is a very big plus in this watch: it's become joyful to see. All-in-all a very good quality watch, as pretty much always is the case with the Timex-brand. Recommendable for sure, this kind but brave Timex-Snoopy featured field watch. All this in a green world.

It's a very high-quality watch. It glows in the dark. I read that people complained about the loud chiming sound of the second hand. I think it's a normal sound for analog watches. I personally like that sound. I love the ability to set the day. It's a simple, functional watch that has the features I was looking for.

W cenie 215 zł to był dobry zakup, wymieniłem standardową wersję na ten kolaboracyjny - funkcje te same, inna tarcza i otoczka całego ekologicznego projektu. Dodatkowo wymieniłem standardowy skórzany pasek, który moim zdaniem jest za gruby i za twardy, na wersję silikonową dedykowaną do tego modelu. Nie trzeba się dzięki temu martwić o jakiekolwiek zachlapanie / zanurzenie. W cenie promocyjnej polecam 😄

I bought this watch as I work in a very busy unit that monitors multiple screens of patients EKG and respiratory status. We record our calls and the time of them to alert staff to changes and potentially dangerous findings. Its vital to have a watch that keeps good time and even more vital to have a watch that's extremely easy to read in ALL lighting conditions. This one does both, at a price that was surprisingly good. Pressing the crown lights the dial and is very easy to see in dim light. HIghly rated for its visibility alone. This is NOT a solar watch, it has a replaceable battery. But I gladly make that trade for the wonderful visibility that requires just the quickest glance to tell the time. Additionally the watch seems to be well made, it's heavier than the typical digital watch. The leather band also seems thick and sturdy. Overall I HIGHLY recommend this watch and feel it was great value for the price. At the time I registered my watch on the Timex website they even included a lifetime warranty. Granted that's not a massive issue with a relatively economical watch, but it does speak to the confidence the company has in their product. As noted the watch does have some weight to it. And it probably is not the best watch for someone who wants a small watch. Neither of those factors were important to me. I've gotten compliments on this watch and it is good looking imho.
