Looks expensive
Looks great in my game room. Changed all light fixtures chrome/silver. Definitely money well spent. Easy to assemble.

It looks great
Modern look, affordable, non-integrated light bulbs so you can change them any time.

Slight wobble, could be better quality, but looks nice
Unboxing, stup and assembly will go about as you'd expect if you've ever done this before. We've got several ceiling fans that we installed in our house and this was really not much different. Except there are 4 blades, where most have 5.The BCF5252 is a 52" ceiling fan with pull strings for light and fan. Light on/off. And 3 speeds for the fan. From afar it looks like a more expensive fan. But once you get closer, you do see some cheapness in the material of the blades and overall materials. It's not bad, and not a huge deal for something that usually will never be inspected up close - but worth noting. There is no remote, which should be included at this price. That does mean that installation at least is more straight forward. Using the standard wires and colors everybody else uses. Worse case, the instruction guide is simple enough to follow if you need it.After installed, we provided our own two LED light bulbs. There is good light output in the housing throughout the room. Pulling the strings results in rocking from the fan due to the amount of force required to engage. It's not the most elegant mechanism. But once again, it does get the job done. The biggest issue is going to be a slight wobble at high speed. It's not bad, but you clearly see the metal housing itself is slightly unbalanced. It's not the blades or anything that could be impacted by user assembly or install. Reducing to low or medium seem to be slow enough so you don't really notice much. It's a descent fan, but for the money, I'd expect more. Better quality, more features, more refinement, etc. It's possible if we went through enough fans, maybe we'd find one that didn't wobble. But to be honest, I really don't feel like messing with it. And I shouldn't have to.Overall, for the room we installed it in, my Wife likes it in her study. Looks nice, circulates air, it runs about as quiet as any other modern ceiling fan. It's average for the price/quality. Naturally a drop in price would help influence potential shoppers.

Quality Control Issue
Clearly there’s a need for better quality control. Firstly, although instructions can be improved, it shouldn’t be difficult to install this fan by a handy person. Secondly, though there were a few scratches on the fan blades and minor imperfections, they can be hidden by reversing the blades, so the imperfections are facing towards the ceiling. However, the biggest issue and the reason for my one-star review is because the mounting bracket is too deep and hits the canopy mounting screws when doing a flush mount. I checked a few previous reviews here at Amazon and there appears to be lots of complaint about this same issue. For most, this issue is detected when getting ready to install the fan and after installing the fan’s supporting bracket on the ceiling. The fan itself is in the heavy side, so lifting it and trying to get it in place can be a hassle if the canopy holding screws won’t line up.If you purchase this fan and are doing a ‘flush mount’ you should, in my opinion, skip step 4 of the manual for now (installing bracket to ceiling outlet box), then go to step 6, which is Flush Mount Installation Option, and install the canopy to the motor housing. Note that you’re supposed to use a rubber “bushing” between the canopy and the motor housing but mine didn’t come with one, so I had to make my own. After installing canopy to the motor housing, dry install the fan supporting mounting bracket onto the canopy and make sure the side screw holes in mounting bracket align with the canopy’s side screw holes...these are the holes for the screws that support the fan to the ceiling. If holes don’t align it probably means, at least in my case, that the supporting mounting bracket hits the screws that support the canopy to the motor housing. In my opinion, if that’s the case, you have these options: contact Amazon or seller for support, try grinding down the supporting bracket or the head of the screws, use screws with thinner head or start a return.

We are pleased with this simple design, contemporary looking fan.
I ordered my 1st ceiling fan when they were novel back in the early 1980s when I lived in Nashville. Over the years, I have lived in different states and had a number of different styles, looks, colors and brands including Casablanca, Hunter. Hampton Bay, Honeywell and no-name brands. This is our 1st Black and Decker and it is fine. This is a 52" ceiling fan with pull strings for light (on and off) and 3 speeds for the fan. There is not a remote, as some newer models seem to offer but we do not have any fan remotes, only wall switches so this is not an issue. This Black and Decker model is quite attractive and somewhat more of a more contemporary style. It should be noted the paddle blades are a light wood not plastic, which is nice. This model has four blades, while many have five. It is quiet and seems to move the air well, so we do not see a difference. The blades are a brushed nickel and/or silver tone, which is also a bit different from the many others we’ve had in brown, wood tone, white, designed or otherwise. The light kit is included and the housing is glass, not plastic. This color combination can likely match many neutral to colorful décor themes.Installing the fan was easy enough for one who knew how to do it – that was not me. It is worth to have someone install it safely and correctly the 1st time.We looked at the big box stores and noted the B&D had some new offerings at competitive prices. We are pleased with this simple design, modern looking fan. If you find this review useful, please let Amazon and me know by clicking the helpful button below!John J. Hogan

Safety issue : no safety chain
do not buy this fan. The mounting bracket is super thin aluminum and it has no safety chain to secure the fan to the ceiling. This is one huge safety issue. My electrician struggled for 4 hours to install this fan and gave up and we returned the fan for a refund.
