Saves you tons of money on new shoes.
These guards work wonderfully well. As I'm sure all of you know, the "rubber" heels on most shoes these days wear out long before the actual shoe does. These guards prevent such heels from wearing out too quickly. If you're wearing the shoes most days of the week, you'll need to change the guards every 3 months or so. Installing them the first time you put them on is the easiest install you'll run into. The replacement installs will require getting glue off the heel and any dirt that's accumulated, and then making sure they are totally dry before sticking on the new pair. I don't rely totally on the sticky stuff on them. I apply Crazy Glue to the heel before pressing the guards on. It's a bit tricky getting a reinstall on because you have to be sure to line up the holes in the guards with the holes already in the heels. The nails provided go down into the heel pretty easily, but I like to have them countersunk so a carpet thread, for example, can't pull the nails out. I use a punch pressed against the nail and a tack hammer to get them countersunk. I bought mine W S Warehouse and I have to say the customer service from W S Warehouse is wonderful. The first time I bought them, I inadvertantly bought the wrong size. When I wrote to the seller to ask how to exchange them, they said to keep the wrong size and they would send me the size I actually needed. No charge whatsoever for the replacement. Now that's customer service better than I ever expected. All in all, a wonderful product that saves the cost of new shoes every 6 months when the shoes themselves would still be good for another 2 or 3 years. All you have to do is protect those darn cheap heels shoe manufacturers are using these days.

Cheap and effective.
Pretty solid product. They arrived fairly quickly. The packaging leaves something to be desired - the nails came in a bundle of magazine pages, and the guards themselves came in a plastic bag wrapped in magazine pages, but for the price I paid, I didn't expect much. Haven't really put them to the test, but they seem to be holding up well after a half-dozen wears or so. Applied pretty easily - just peal off the back, slap them on where your shoes get worn down, and nail them in with a hammer.I got the size 6 for my shoes (which are a US 10.5). I think it's a tad too big, although I'm sure if I used the printout from the website it'd fit better. Of course, 6 could be the right size. I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for in terms of size/coverage, but I think a smaller size (or one less crescent shaped) might have covered more of the "wear area." But the size 6 certainly works well for my needs.

Used on my Rainbow Sandals, great results
Purchased these to prevent premature wear on my Rainbow sandals. I tend to wear down the non-slip sole layer into the the cushiony rubber layers far before the rest of the sandal wears out. This occurs mostly on the outer back edge of the heel area. I printed out the size template, identified the size that would work best, and ordered them with Prime. With the nature of the sandals, using the included nails was not going to work. Luckily the adhesive on these is strong enough to do the job. I did make sure to clean the area thoroughly with alcohol before application. I have since worn these in the rain, on wet grass, in puddles, through the woods, and so far the heel taps are still attached. I noticed they are a little bit slippery now on indoor floors, as other reviewers have commented. But they are not slippery enough to keep me from using them. They have not left marks that I have noticed. Overall a solid product that works exactly for what I wanted.

Good value and arrived quicker than expected
Good value and arrived quicker than expected. Easy to install, especially since the supplied nails (brads) are ultra sharp and easily pierce the rubber heel. But it's essential to clean heel surface with alcohol to ensure good adhesion. Only one issue prevents me from awarding 5 stars. The heads on all supplied brads are not round, but are almost square with pointy corners, so these heads will not fit flush inside the round wells which are molded in the rubber plates. After I rounded each nail head with a small file, the nails worked just fine, but users should not be given this chore.

These work great First, however
These work greatFirst, however, I would recommend going to the Guard website and downloading a template before selecting a size-The heels are easy to place; I use a pair of needle nosed pliers to initially push the nails in, and then a hammer to seat them- using a extra two nails to really secure them. The adhesive they come with is secure, but I don't trust it alone- use the nails. Not all the nails them have rounded corners and some will not fit completely into the the Guard's preformed holes- but a small file can be used to round them off or you may wish to buy other brads to use instead. I have found that after a brief period of walking on a concrete surface, the nails have smooth'd down anyway- so this is no big deal.I have used them as a preventative for 3 pairs of cowboy boots- far better this than have to replace the entire worn heel in the future.

fine with superglue or nails
i wish these came with nails, but i had some small nails from a different order. replacing leather stacked cowboy boot heels is annoyingly expensive. i used superglue and nailed these on for good measure to extend the life of aging boots. i used a 2 x 4 as a "back" to get the nails in. the adhesive alone is inadequate. i used loctite super glue for the plastic backed heels on my cheaper boots, which has worked surprisingly well. alone, they are a two or three because of ineffective adhesive. with super glue/nails, they work well.

Too Big
I had to cut these way down to reshape them and make new nail holes in order to fit them onto my wife's clogs. The outside of her soles were worn way down, so instead of her springing for new expensive clogs, we opted to install these heel plates. Only time will tell if they will last and not fall off. The adhesive backing doesn't seem that strong, even after cleaning the souls with alcohol. I will change my rating and update my review as needed.

Over priced
Based upon the price, I did not realize this was only one pair.
