Hard to find, but worth the search
I finally found refills for my favorite Parker pen. Very smooth and satisfying to write with

The only real competition to my fountain pens are my Parker rollerballs.
I'm a fountain pen user but i have to hand it to Parker.. they make a terrific rollerball refill. I love the shade of deep blue. More deep than most medium blues. It never hard starts. Good value and the writing experience in two pens is quite smooth.. Parker makes good ink, and refills. I wish I had gotten to try the old Parker blue/black before they changed the formula a few years ago, but that ink is pretty decent too.

Catastrophic Ink Failures from a Brand That Should Know Better
As someone who’s relied on high-quality rollerball pens for decades in both executive and archival environments, I expect a certain level of performance and reliability from a brand like Parker. Unfortunately, these QUINK rollerball refills completely betray the legacy of their name. Within a few months of installation, I encountered multiple catastrophic failures: the ink reservoir pressurized or deteriorated, causing spontaneous overflow into the cap, nib, and ultimately into the pen body itself. The result? A pen that went from refined writing instrument to biohazard. The chemical composition of the ink appears to destabilize over time, perhaps due to poor sealing or aging stock. It breaks down in viscosity and begins to pool erratically—an issue compounded by what I suspect is inadequate pressure regulation in the refill’s internal structure. This isn’t a minor leak or a dried tip; it’s a full-blown ink purge. Removing the cap becomes a gamble—one that often ends with an inky eruption and an irreversibly stained leather blotter. The refill essentially becomes a grenade waiting for the next user.Cleaning the aftermath is a painstaking process. It took hours with cotton swabs, isopropyl alcohol, and ultrasonic agitation to remove the tar-like sludge from the inner feed of my pen—a pen that retails well north of $100. Worse, the ink had saturated hard-to-reach capillary channels, affecting flow and performance even after deep cleaning. The residue also transferred onto my fingers and paperwork during use, a completely unacceptable outcome for any setting, let alone a professional one.Whether this is a case of degraded shelf life or a design flaw in the refill itself, I can’t say. What I do know is that these refills should not be marketed for use in high-end pens. If Parker is distributing old or improperly stored stock, they’re damaging both pens and reputations. For now, I’ll be sourcing alternative refills and treating these QUINKs as a cautionary tale.

A Fantastic Upgrade to the Fine Refill – Perfect Ink Flow and Rich Colour
The Parker Medium Rollerball Refill is an excellent upgrade over the fine variant that comes with the pen. The ink is noticeably thicker, providing a more vibrant and rich line. This makes for a much more satisfying writing experience—the boldness and clarity of the ink are perfect for both everyday writing and professional use.One of the standout features of this refill is the smooth ink flow. The ink dispenses evenly and consistently, allowing for fluid writing with minimal effort. Whether you’re writing notes, drafting documents, or journaling, the medium ink offers a sharp, crisp appearance that stands out beautifully on paper. The writing feels more comfortable and effortless, especially for long writing sessions, as the flow doesn’t skip or dry out like some finer refills can.In addition to the excellent performance, the refill is also durable—lasting longer than I expected before requiring a replacement. This makes it a cost-effective choice in the long run, particularly considering the high-quality results it delivers.Overall, if you prefer a medium refill, this is an ideal choice. It offers superior ink quality, smoother flow, and better overall writing performance compared to the fine variant. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a better writing experience with their Parker rollerball pen.5 stars – Perfect ink flow, rich colour, and smooth writing with the medium refill. A noticeable improvement over the fine refill!
