extremely durable, well-fitting, and easily adjusted
These weights are nearly perfect. I'll give them 4.5 stars and round up since they're so much better than the competition (which I have also tried).First of all, I love being able to adjust the weight in such small increments. I use these when weightlifting for targeting smaller muscles like shoulders, since my dumbbells only go up in 5 pound increments. For example I'm currently doing a shoulder exercise at 18.85 pounds (15 pound dumbbells plus these weights at 3.85 pounds). For certain exercises a change in as little as 0.55 pounds (one of the bars in these) can make a significant difference. The thing to understand about these weights is that the actual weight is provided by metal bars, unlike most wrist/ankle weights which use sand bags for weight. As a result, these weights are MUCH easier to adjust and MUCH more durable, which justifies the higher cost in my opinion. With a normal wrist/ankle weight, it can be hard to get the sand bags back in after you've taken them out, whereas these bars slide easily back in, which is key if you change the weight several times in a session.I also found these weights to be MUCH better/tighter/smaller fitting than the other weights I tried. The other weights I tried were loose at certain points and it was hard to get a consistent thickness around my wrist. By contrast these fit snugly around my wrist (I am an average size male, but the size is adjustable). There are no straps, you just wrap it around and it attaches using a long piece of velcro. The lack of straps also make these quicker to put on and take off. It's also easy to roll these up tightly for transportation or storage. Last night I packed them up in my suitcase to take them with me for Thanksgiving and they didn't take up much space at all.Note that while some of the reviews complain about the metal ends sticking out and rubbing against one's skin, this has been fixed in the newer model (as you can see in the photo). The bars are now fully covered with a new flap that also attaches using velcro.I have two minor criticisms which is why I rated 4.5 instead of 5:1. When I first received the package, I couldn't remove any of the bars from one of the two pieces. They were basically stuck inside... maybe the piece had been in storage too long. I shook the piece up and down for about 5 minutes and was eventually able to dislodge the pieces one by one. Now I can insert/remove the pieces easily.2. I think it's a bit strange that the weights are 0.55 pounds each, not a round number like 0.5 pounds. It's not a big deal but my preference would have been 0.5. Maybe they do that so they can get it up to 5.5 pounds each instead of only 5, which might be better for other people. It's not a big deal at all, though.Get these!

Nice product
Good quality & easy to adjust weight needed. My son has used regularly for PT exercises & it has worked great.

Nice for weight adjustment, but too large for a woman
Pros: Can adjust the weight from 0.5 lbs to 5 lbs per leg, which is really great for customizing a single item to your work outs. Can remove all weights and wash the fabric. Velcro is strong.Cons: I am a 5'5, 120 lb female and I need to wear socks with these ankle weights because they hurt my ankle bones and slide around. They are too long, meaning the metal bars go from my ankle to my calf which makes them press on my ankle bone. I think they would be better for someone with thicker ankles and wrists or longer limbs.

Just what I needed
This has been a great help for my physical therapy for my knee. I didn't know what size weights to buy to rehab my knee. I only had a 2 lb weight and it was too heavy to start out. I didn't know if I needed a one pound weight or 1 1/2 pound weight so I got this to avoid buying a bunch of separate weights. I love it because for my first day I used one pound, then the second day I was able to use one and a half pounds. As my knee gets stronger I can easily add more weight.I wish it was not quite so long and maybe the fabric a little softer. But realistically, I think the fabric had to be stiff and a little long to hold the half pound weight bars. A softer fabric would probably rip too easily. Once I have this on, the fabric and the length are really not an issue and it is very comfortable. I am very happy with this and it is helping tremendously with my recovery. My Physical Therapist sells this exact same weight set, but it's a little more expensive. I'm glad I found this on Amazon.

Best option for adjustable heavy ankle weights
Without getting into the specifics, I’ve been using ankle weights as part of my exercise routine for more than a year and have been frustrated by how poorly constructed they are for a top-rated, competing brand. The problem with nearly all other brands of heavy ankle weights is that they use bags of sand or iron filings to provide for adjustable weights. These bags settle, with sand pooling in the lower part of the weight, or they separate into two halves that flop around. The heavier the weight, the worse other brands perform. It would seem there’s a reason most ankle cuff weights top out at five pounds or 2.5 kg per ankle. I was ready for more.Unlike with other brands, these ankle cuff weights use solid metal rods that can be combined to provide up to ten pounds of weight per ankle. The weights don’t shift around or separate during use. They’re absolutely stable. Others have complained that the weights are just about impossible to remove, once inserted, but I’ve not found that to be the case. The individual weights slide in easily, and they slide out just as easily. Most importantly, the weights are comfortable during use, even with prolonged use. I wish I’d discovered these weights first, as I couldn’t be happier with them.

Great idea but ...
I was exited after I found these. No more sand! And ability to change the weight! What an awesome idea...But it's poorly executed. The construction is tall but not wide enough, so they only wrap halfway your ankle. I am petite 110 lbs and 5" so I have pretty small ankles. The straps hold pretty good but they are not comfortable.

I like them
They work really great. I like that I can change the metal weights. The Velcro is very strong they will not slip.

Very Nice Ancle Weights
I just received these and put them on. Seems well made. The weights are relatively easy to change while wearing. It's nice not having to deal with sand/lead bags; not as bulky and don't have to worry about tears/leaks and the weights are more precise.I may update my review after using them for a while, but so far I am very happy with them.
