The Veritable Key of Solomon: Three Complete Versions of the Key of Solomon

Excellent book - it should be 7 stars
I bought this book from a book store in UK and it took around three weeks to arrive. The book is great, glossy paper with illustrations in full color. I tried to upload some pictures, but I couldn't. As far as I can tell, the content and design are very similar to the first edition that you can find in a video in youtube. My only negative comment is that some seals are in Latin rather than in Hebrew, as it is usually seen in traditional kabbalah. Only buy this book if you know what you are doing with it, don't go around summoning angels, let alone demons.

Break Out The Blessed Chalk, You Are Going To Need It
The Veritable Key of Solomon is a genuine contribution to the study of Solomonic magic and its literature. Simply put, it is three different French manuscripts dating from 1796, and published along with facsimiles of their original pentacles – and according to the dust jacket, “more than twice as many … as were produced in Mather's text.” I admit, I find many of them of interest and different from what we have seen in previous additions. I am convinced that students of this particular grimoire will find the material presented by Skinner and Rankine very useful in their work, be it literary or practical. Now, for those of you who have seen The Clavis or Key to the Magic of Solomon, the Sibley and Hockley manuscript with commentary by Joseph Peterson (Ibis Press 2009) for which I wrote the back jacket-copy, you will be pleasantly surprised at the similarities and difference in these Solomonic texts which date from the same time period. For those who are passionate about Solomonic magic these books are indispensable, for those new to the Art, it will be a steep learning curve and one possible taken with a friend and guide. Regardless of where you stand, Skinner and Rankine (and Peterson too!) have provided us with a set of working tools and contextual references through invaluable commentary with which to work as we make our way through the world of Solomonic magic in the modern world.

Not full color.
It's beautiful but it's not a full color version. It's kind of confusing, mostly because the image says "now in full color" that part doesn't come in the dust cover.

Arrived with damaged spine, improperly bound and creased pages
Like another review mentioned, my copy arrived with the spine not attached properly, the first 15 pages were creased as they didn't seem bound in the right way and pages in the middle were also "cinched" up as if the binding were a bit crooked. Returning this copy. I really hope other copies are not this poorly put together.

Beware, no longer in color, although the ISBN is identical.
Please be aware that ISBN 978-0955738760 although now in its second printing (and in it's second edition) is no longer in color. The cover of the book has remained the same, in it's Yellow-Green style, but the tag-line "Three complete versions of the Key of Solomon now in full colour" now simply reads "Three complete versions of the Key of Solomon" - a disappointment considering there are now three ISBNs for this volume, of which only one is guaranteed to be in color, that being the limited, and signed version no longer offered. After e-mailing the author, he has confirmed that this book is no longer offered in a color edition. The content of this book itself is excellent, but the title of the book, and the front cover image is no longer accurate.

Start your journey in the Solomonic arts!
The most famous of all grimoires, Dr Skinner has included 3 versions of it in this book, shame that the colour version is no longer available, otherwise perfect for anyone interested in its historical background. Although it is difficult to follow this book exactly, modern modification may be made to make it a workable system.

and got a lovely looking one with good bindings.
Great book, and far superior to the Mathers versions.

Damaged book - not in colour.
It’s annoying paying for a brand new book that looks and feels inferior to second hand copies. Pages are twisted, and there is something wrong with the spine. Also, as another reviewer has noted, book is advertised as having full colour, but is not.Do I just accept a poor quality damaged book. Tbh - returning it is such a bother. And I cannot be sure a replacement will be any better.Still waiting for the sellers views on this.Shame, as the book looks fascinating. I am not sure why anybody might try using it, or worry about the pronunciations or indeed the sigals being 100% accurate. The whol tradition of Solomonic magic says more about fantasy and human nature that it does on practical ancient mysteries. At best it is a decadent form of an already decadent tradition. The Greek Papari and Sumerian’s cuneiform tablets are interesting to compare with these works.
