Edit: these bowls are over 2 years old and they still look and work like they did when we first got them. Zero complaints. Very happy with this purchase. We added a water bucket (different brand/supplier) to one side and now rotate the bowls for food only. The water bucket holds more water and the mat keeps it stable on the floor. We can also hook it inside his kennel when we travel. Original: We hesitantly bought this because some reviews were iffy, but we’ve had it now for a few months and our Weimaraner puppy has grown from ~ 10 lbs to ~ 45 lbs (5 months old) and these bowls are terrific. We wash the metal bowls nightly (dishwasher or by hand) after dinner and the mat when it looks dirty (maybe once a week - but I can see that being more frequent with a long haired dog since everything sticks to silicone and black silicone shows everything). We took these on a multi-stop road trip in an RV for 2 weeks and they did get a couple of dents that we hadn’t experienced in the house (I think a heavy flashlight fell onto them at least one time). The bowls aren’t made of the thickest metal (not like the little metal mixing bowls we use in the kitchen), but they’re perfectly fine for this purpose UNLESS a dog decided to take a bite out of it (it would almost surely show teeth marks of a strong dog). They still work very well and the dents are only minor cosmetic imperfections if even that. Our pup doesn’t pull the bowls out of the tray (honestly, it’s a little hard for me to get them out). The size is perfect for our medium dog with a large appetite (he’s fed 3 times daily still, but twice daily meal portions would easily fit with room to spare). The bowls and tray stay put where we want them (usually against a wall). The water/mess is partially contained, but who expects a perfectly clean floor when they have a weim? We’re very happy with this purchase. (We purchased the larger of the two sizes.)

Bought this for my 14-week-old Newfoundland puppy. It lasted exactly 48 hours before she destroyed it. PROS: Cute pink color Non-skid mat is a good idea in theory Stainless steel bowls are decent quality Good size (24 oz total) CONS: Not durable for large breed puppies who chew EVERYTHING The mat and no-spill rim didn't survive the chaos Wasted money - should've bought something more heavy-duty Bottom line: If you have a small dog or a non-destructive pet, this might work fine. If you have a large breed puppy (especially a Newfie), save your money and get something indestructible. Lesson learned: Newfoundland puppies require military-grade everything.
