Guitar Exercises: 10x Guitar Skills in 10 Minutes a Day: An Arsenal of 100+ Exercises for All Areas

As the title says, my aging eyes can actually read these tabs easily as they are boldly contrasted and large enough to see unlike another popular exercise book that I also like, but can't really see well without aides. These exercises are interesting and different from just presenting basic scales as well. Truly useful for a fair price makes it 5 stars!

I have purchased every Guitar Head books. I have found that they flow nicely, the information is written to guide the reader toward practicing the skills discussed in an orderly and easy manner! The Guitar Tabs and Fret Board books are absolutely outstanding. If you want to learn TABS this is the book to grab. You will understand the concept with every page, and you will find the way it's taught, it's easy to remember. The only criticism that I have for these books are occasional misspelled words. These books will not disappoint you, and if you don't understand something you get Guitar Head's email address and a social network to look for help!

Update: I successfully downloaded the audio files and bonus book as advertised, just now. Happy to report that it worked without any glitches. The author followed through in what he offered. Much appreciated as the other major piece of his method. Whether from the paper book’s link, the Kindle edition, or the website, the links are all nonfunctioning for downloading the audio tracks. Another buyer complained on his site, and was told that the author was changing his email provider and gave a different link. That also failed. The author should post here and on his own site an explanation in advance so all can know the status of what is advertised. I will revise my rating when this is fixed. Also, I have no problem at all that the exercises are written in tab format. But be aware that the are only in that form, not in the more common dual tab and standard notation form. UPDATE The author kindly offered to privately send the files for the book, if I give him my email address, and I raised my review a star for his effort. While not at all suspicious of the author, this is an insecure means for distributing a mass offering, especially for a new enterprise having internet provider challenges. So I will wait until the issues with distribution are sorted and download normally at that time.The exercises seem promising. It would be helpful to hear how they are supposed to sound prior to picking them out first time, so the audio examples are helpful, useful idea and important part of the book at least personally. Will revise the rating again when the issues are fixed.

I loved the book! The language is simple, the content is clear and to the point. The author uses humor as a tool for instruction, and I appreciate that. In just a few days of following the exercise, I have noticed my fingers are reaching higher, they are less stiff, and I can practice a little longer. Now, I just have to teach my fingers not to fly😜! Thank you!

My fiance fot this for che king out different practices to help with his finger dexterity and he said it really makes a difference in his playing. I love that he has a great tool or point of reference to use for playing. Definitely worth a try.

I like the book but it's not for beginners at all, unless you can spend a lot of time practising, much more than the impression I first got from the promotion . It's a good book and I believe the author is coming out with one that's more for beginners. FYI, I'm a self taught rhythm guitarist looking to pick up some electric skills.. So the fault probably lies with me.

This is now my go-to book of exercises for my regular practice. Well laid out and easy to understand, and I especially love the way it's broken down into different categories, so you can focus on a particular area of playing one day, then another the next, much like a weightlifter will focus on different areas of the body every day. This is a must have for anyone serious about a regular practice regime.

I am finding that getting through the exercises does take some time, as it should, I suppose. But the exercises are definitely improving my skills. This book is a good catch for anyone who plays guitar and wants to improve their skills on the fret board and picking.

different topics different techniques, from beginner to expirienced, good various exercises, but i wonder where/how to get the soundfiles? rock on! rob

Could be printed (by amazon) in a lot higher quality, they went really greedy with these series. I like them but would rather buy; -Color printed to see/separate finger placements and patterns easier (remember, its for BEGINNERS, make it EASY) -Spiral bound book so it keeps open -A3 format, because its so small print you cant read from a distance, CAN NOT BE USED WHILE PLAYING THE GUITAR, which disturbes me a lot.... Wanna make money on old products @amazon you need to make them better not worse In this format its unfortunately not much of a use, so the excersice book specifically sucks tbh.

I'm giving it 5 stars not as a synonym of "perfect", which is a more arguably matter, but because of the overall I got given the price, the many contents and how well organized they are (different techniques, different levels of difficulty...). I see this book as a great tool to help you establish your guitar workouts and routines and even grab some interesting resources if you teach guitar. This said, it may be a bit overwhelming even for experimented players, as explanations may be a tad too scarce and the exercises too many. Beginners may find this book perhaps too hard on occasion, so I'd recommend to dive into these book and its exercises once you're a bit more fluent with the instrument.Please keep in mind this is more a compilation of exercises and steps to progress rather than a detailed tutorial. Last but not least, kudos to the author and his efforts in motivating anyone who's interested in playing guitar. All those who purchase the book will see there's life beyond it and it's indeed worth of praise. Hats off to you, Mr. Guitar Head!

Después de un tiempo de no estar tocando, este libro me está poniendo al punto de donde me quedé cuando dejé de tocar haciendo el proceso relativamente sencillo, con su método he podido seguir el ritmo que tenía y mejorar en otros aspectos que tenía rezagados.

I've been using it for less than a week and am already noticing a difference as it gives me a routine to practice. The only suggestion I would have had is for some examples of little plans to follow in using the numerous exercises. At the moment I'm just working my way through in order but it would be fun to get some advice on mixing and matching from around the book.
