Missing Essential Parts, Quick Response!
Did not need the handle or base items, so only bought the reel to replace my current one which snapped under heavy snow. My fault! Otherwise, was quite happy with it's performance. Unfortunately, received the new reel which did not include the 2 small end sockets (see the item picure). Those are needed for installation of the handle and end stands which I had saved. Sent a message to the seller. Hopefully, I can update this review shortly. Sure enough, received response immediately and parts within a week.

Sorry I bought this
I purchased the 28' reel but I think this review might be important to know. It is a sturdy enough reel and a good value but if you ever need to contact that company for anything "forget it". Before i even purchased the reel, I made several attempts top contact customer service because I needed to know what the maximum length of the unit was for installation purposes. After several attempts, no one ever answered the phone and after leaving messages, never a call back. After installing the unit, my wife and I hastily swung the cover away from the pool. Unfortunately, the end pieces have a pin that holds them in place and has to be removed before you swing the reel. Oops, we forgot and bent the end shaft and tore up the mounting bracket. After a few choice words about being so stupid, my wife said why don't you call the company and order a shaft and mounting plate. Well, guess what? Nobody answered the phone, no call backs! This is extremely annoying making a bad situation even worse. Heaven help me if I really needed help! Companies with customer service like this soon go out of business and then, no hope. Looks like I will have to make my own parts. Sorry I ever bought this from a company with such lousy customer service!

DO NOT BY FROM THIS MANUFACTURER!
Buy from a different manufacturer. This reel does not come with complete instructions on installation and I've searched everywhere and contacted the manufacturer. When you unroll the cover, on an above ground round pool, both ends of the cover go to one side. It doesn't make it any easier to get the cover on and off.
