I have. The Mavens have good glass but the overall package felt quite cheap. The Carsons are good but not as sharp. To throw a spanner in the works the Hawke Frontier ED X are superior to both by some margin.

Yes it does, Standard thread. I coupled mine with a vanguard ba185 adapter and Neewer tripod.
