I don't normally get impressed with knives, fixed blade, folders, filet - any of them. Have always used a breaking blade for most if not all my fishing cleaning requirements. Then we saw a gent out at the Washington coast just going to town on salmon and groundfish, without missing a beat with a battery operated filet knife! It was this Bubba electric knife. So I ordered one, it has changed the way I clean fish. Not only does it do a great job of fileting, it backskins even rainbow trout (with that really thin skin). I had a bunch of Mister Twister blades and they fit right in. A little cheaper than the Bubba blades, and when they wear out or I can't sharpen them anymore I will switch over entirely to the Bubba blades. This is one knife I would absolutely recommend for any type of fishing - the Li-ion battery has gone through some 100 fish and still shows 3 of 4 charging bars! Can't beat those results. The grip is a little big and the trigger fit is something to get used to but is not a deal breaker. There is mucho fishing to do, lots of fish to clean, and this knife is just a pleasure. Now, with this long winded tome - I'm getting this rascal ready to carve Turkey tomorrow. Enjoy your knife!!! I purchased my knife on August 2020 and have not been disappointed at all, until this evening. One set of the blades would not extract despite my best efforts. I looked under the warranty description and it didn't appear jammed blades would be covered. So, down to the shop I went. Disassembly is not for the faint of heart but it was enlightening - the knife failed because of some really CHEAP locking mechanism - infuriating how this expensive knife would fail simply because somebody cut corners on parts quality. Guess someone got a big bonus for using cheap parts. "Web-only resale businesses (example: Amazon, eBay, or other similar websites) are NOT authorized dealers" - pretty much VOIDS any expectation of quality related issues, like a jammed blade. By the time you purchase an extra battery, along with the knife, the numbers just don't add up to buy another different Li-Ion knife - the batteries aren't compatible - go figure. I use this knife every time I go fishing so it has seen lots of use, NOT abuse. It is a dream to use. This little part is not significant enough to prevent me from ordering another. It's just another example of why companies have units assembled in China, Vietnam or any third world country to save money on quality parts. One balances use vs money and at least I have gotten my use from the unit, regardless of the disappointment in discovering a cheap little part will cost me another $125 + to buy another. The convenience is just worth it in my mind - now I just have a bunch of spare parts should I ever need them. Pretty pathetic - but all that said, I'm buying another and would recommend this knife as on of the best I have ever used.

I love this knife! Fillets everything from Catfish to Crappie to Northern Pike. Use the e stiff blade for the big fish and take your time, it's much easier if you go slow. I recommend this knife for in the field cleaning and I use a corded knife when I have electricity available.

I use it to clean everything from sharks, which are the toughest to clean because of their sandpaper like skin, to giant trevally, amberjacks and to steak up thick albacore tunas. Filleting is easy, steaking them by cutting them in half inch pieces is a lot tougher on a blade. It even cleans Gray snappers aka Jobfish or UKU in Hawaii. These have heavy scales like a redfish. I can process about 15 to 20 fish on one battery. These are 10 to 25 pound ocean fish. I tried to add photos but they wont let me. I had 3 batteries fail and the blade failed in about 6 months of heavy ocean use. I liked it though so I bought another bubba blade, even though the first one failed after 6 months of heavy use. Saltwater is a bugger. I reached out to the factory directly and at first they said they dont honor warranty for products sold on amazon. I still sent an email saying I bought two and and 3 batteries failed and I bought 2 more batteries directly from them for 50 bucks each. After a month or two of the pandemic they got back to me and asked me to send a video showing it not working on one and working on the other. So I did it and a few days later they said they would send me out a brand new one. Wow. Great customer service. I got it about a month later! Im very pleased and loyal to bubba brand now.

I really like this fillet knife and hate it at the same time. It’s really easy to fillet fish with and do a great job . But the handle is so big it’s hard for me to press the trigger down . I did ( after using) realize that the trigger was t a press down but a pull back . Still it’s large and hard for my smaller hands to hold . I took another knife to the orange rubber and white rubber grippers and cut the handle down a bit to fit my hand better. It was super easy to fillet the fish accurately . I did feel the tip of the knife is a bit dull. I’m to sharpen mine .

Great set of blades. Battery last a long time.

After 5.5 years of cleaning Striper, Blue Cats, Speckled Trout, Redfish, Crappie, my Bubba finally kicked the bucket. It has cleaned many fish over the years, I fish all year round, it is not stored in a climate controlled location. The batteries did well considering my poor storage, I would recommend this, but have cleaned fish with folks that didn't like them. Keep sharp blades on it. Deciding now on this version or the higher priced Bubba.

It’s a great filleting knife. My husband loves it!

This seems to be a quilting filleting electric knife. I have never used one before but am getting the hang of it. Amazon regular price was the Bass Pro sale price. Just as FYI.
