Does anyone recommend a filet knife that is not made in China?

American Angler. Made in Arkansas and a great knife! Tons of power and I spoke with several fishermen that could not stop talking about how long they last!

How does this compare to rapala electric knife? And how long does blades stay sharp?

The rapala is a little smaller in hands. After using this one for a while you don't really notice it. The rubber texture grip on this feels good. The battery seems to last longer on this one. As for blades. It comes with 4 sets. I've cleaned several hundred fish and the blades still cut out nice fillets. The case is a really nice semi soft case.

Are you able to sharpen the blades when they need it?

You could sharpen it like any serrated blade or we do sell replacements individually for the 4 styles that come with it.
