I wear about a 12 to 14 and would normally order a Large but based on reviews ordered an XL. The waist is HUGE and I may need to wear a belt with these. I put them on over a pair of workout leggings and they are pretty snug in the legs and thighs. With no layering - much better. I ordered them to wear snow shoeing and cross country skiing so we'll see if they are warm enough without extra layers. Maybe will try thin, thinsulate long underwear underneath if necessary. If you have chunky thighs. Be aware.Material seems durable and water repellant which is what I was looking for.

I purchased these and the men's equivalent for my husband and I to prepare for a New Year's (Dec 30-Jan 6) trip to Iceland. I wore these pants exclusively throughout our trip. In Reykjavik, I did not need an underlayer to stay warm and dry. However, I had no problem layering with thermal leggings underneath for a 3-day tour along the southern coast to Hofn. During this tour, we hiked a glacier and some ice caves in the Jokulsarlon area and we were toasty warm the entire time. The wind was unbelievable along the coast, but none of it got through the pants. I was equally surprised at how water resistant they seemed. It snowed heavily throughout our trip but we remained warm and dry. My husband runs warm but he never felt like he was overheating. Moral of the story, buy these pants! You will not be disappointed!

I liked these pants so much I ordered 4 pairs. I also have recommended to others. These pants block wind, water, pet fur and more. The lining is very comfortable.

I am 5'4" tall and these pants are barely long enough. I usually wear a size 6 and I got the 30 size. They fit fine in the waist with a little extra room. The material is nice. I plan to wear these for winter golf due to the lining which is nice. But just know that if you order these and you have long legs or are tall, they may be too short for you.

I never have luck with these kind of pants ordering online. I am one of those sizes that sometimes I can wear a 6 (Small), sometimes I have to wear an 8 (Medium). So I went with the 8 because usually pants like this run small. Now these are too big which leads me to say they are true to size. So order what you would normally wear in jeans. They are generous around the waist. I decided based on past experience with other brands to get the 8 and not the 6. While they are big, I will make them work even if I have to take them in.. I wasn't crazy about the belt they came with but I have others I can use. They appear to be well made, I like the front zippered pockets . I would order again but would order a small .

Tighter than expected. You cannot wear leggings under the pant but it is great for cold weather and for wet weather.

I was skeptical that these pants would be breathable as I'm very sensitive to polyester and almost exclusively look for all-cotton or mostly natural fibers for breathability. But these pants work well in cooler weather so far and have some degree of breathability though at higher temperatures I do start to overheat a bit if I am walking. Presently the outside temperatures are in the 20 degrees to 35 degrees range and I'm wearing these pants consistently outside and in the house with an inside temperature of 65 degrees to 70 degrees. My house is old though, so it always feels chilled. The pants are warm and I bought one pair and then bought a second pair. I purchased the large size. I'm 5'6" tall and 142 pounds. I have not worn these pants yet outdoors in snowy weather so can't speak to how they perform as "snowpants".

Warm and comfortable. Easily warn over thinner layer. Water proof.
