I fail too often buying belts... with this style should I measure my waist and buy that size, or go longer and get extra holes?

My waist size is 41 & a ordered a 42 size. The belt has 5 holes & is almost too long. I wear it in hole 4. Hope this helps. I really like the belt very well made.
