The Dynamics and Thermodynamics of Compressible Fluid Flow, Vol. 1

I used this book in a graduate course on compressible flow in about 1957. Without hesitation, I consider this the best textbook I have encountered in a 45 year engineering career. In later years I used it often in my work, and I still have it. I browse it occasionally when I want to be reminded how much fun being an engineer can be.

This is the classic book on compressible flow. Although published half a century ago, this book is still current. I have used this as a Master's student and am now using it for teaching. Anyone interested in learning gas dynamics must possess this book

圧縮流体に関する全ての基本を網羅した、類まれな良書の一つ。VOLUME1は基礎に関する部分で、物理的背景から説明がなされている。大学の図書室には必ずあるべき1冊。著者はMITの教授ですが、MITから優秀なエンジニア・研究者が多数輩出されるのは、このような優秀な教授の下で学べるからだと納得しました。
