Perfect product at a perfect price, especially for the skeptical.
I play drums for a few local groups and one touring show. It was on the road with the touring show that I was introduced to the Behringer P1. The soundman for the show carries a dozen of them and offered the use of one with a set of earbuds as an alternative to a floor monitor. I was skeptical at first, but very quickly learned to appreciate the benefits of having the sound delivered directly to my ears. It cuts down on the overall stage volume of the band, making the soundman's job a little easier, and with my own personal mix including my kit, it enables me to relax and not overplay volume-wise, which in turn allows me to use more finesse. When I started using the P1 and earbuds with my local groups in which I sing harmony as well as play, the resulting change was phenomenal. What had been true for my drumming was doubly so for singing. Intonation and balance are so much more easily achieved. So far I have gotten three bandmates to switch, saving us tons of floor space in crowded clubs, and cutting back significantly on the stage volume. I know you can spend as much as you want for in-ear monitor ability, but it would have to be a huge difference in sound quality to convince me to switch!

highly recommend this simple personal monitor
It really doesn't get much more simple than this for personal monitoring. TRS/XLR input from the bottom, power/volume knob the top. Inside, is the hidden stereo/mono switch (which needs to align to the source, not your wishes) and spots for 2 AAA batteries. Send in a line-level signal that used to go to your powered monitors (or monitor bi-amp) and you're golden. I have only used mine for practice, but the sound is good, and the cable was not nearly as limiting as I thought it would be. If you already have a cable running from your instrument to a pedalboard or and amp, you're already leashed. I just ran my monitoring cable alongside the instrument cable, and attached the belt clip to my guitar strap. I imagine, when I take it live, I'll Velcro-strip the cables together, but whatev. For the price, it is kinda crazy to not do this versus continuing to suffer with stage wedges - and the stage noise and sound hot spots they create. Not to mention all the extra gear you don't need to haul around anymore. Behringer is a known brand, and since the mergers with other companies (like Midas pre-amps), I think their product offerings are significantly better than they were 20 years ago. These are so inexpensive, I bought extras so when we have a guest performer, s/he can simply patch in. Would and will buy again.

Very Sturdy, portable, loud.
This is an exelent product. One your studio or live engineer knows what they're doing, you'll love this. Very sturdy and built well as mine fell hard a few times and nothing has changed, not even a chip on the paint (hats off to Behringer). As long as you dont forget to turn it off when not in use, the battery lasts very long. I would say 12 hours or more battery life. The volume/ power knob feels great and the belt clip is very convenient.

You need to have one of these!
I perform at a lot of places, and having this in my bag is a "must"! One place in particular is a local bar, that can often get quite loud, to the point where I cannot hear myself over the chatter of the crowd. I just plug this in, put in my earbuds, and drown out the riff-raff. (And sometimes it's just important to hear myself think. haha) I also play private parties and events where I can't hear very well. And this thing works great. (Make sure you get yourself some good earbuds.) One thing, the belt clip is not the best and is easily bent, so watch out for that. (It is easy to tweak back into shape. And I often just lay this on the piano bench next to me anyway.) Another thing is, the batteries may not fit perfectly and can sometimes come loose from bouncing around in a bag. A quick "pop open" to check will help you. I use rechargeable batteries, and that seems to work out really well. So I'm not really sure how long they last. But I have run these for more that 4 hours on a charge, without a problem.

Great low budget IEM setup.
Great option for inexpensive in ear system. Used for several years at live gigs. The batteries can move slightly which can cause sound issues but a little electrical tape to secure them solves the problem.
