Great for your dog, or other furry creatures
Ahh, I see you are looking at this tool. you must have a pet, or specifically a dog. Maybe even a giant cat. Tiny horse? cow? it really doesn't matter, although a horse and cow having longer hair like this would be something to record and call a vet on. So lets assume that you have a land mine creator that tromps around in your backyard. This was the last of a long series of attempts to find a de-shedding tool. Seriously, how hard is it? I am no design expert, but with all that we know these days shouldn't it be easy to find a tool to pull the excessive hair from man's best friend? Or for the feline side, the demented psychopath which shall rule you and break all you own. I have had many tools that claim to be perfect fail over and over. This brush with a network of tiny spines that you push a button and all the hair is supposed to fall off into the trash, the rollers, the weed whackers, the hair cutting tools and the vacuums. NONE WORK. All have some fancy selling point, but the trust of it is that either the dog will hate you for life or they just don't work. Even if you magically find one that does, it only works the first time!Walk in this tool. The ShedMonster ACTUALLY WORKS! Yes, all you poor hear covered people and sigh in relief, this tool does the job over and over again without any issues. And guess what? My dog loves it. He gets excited to see it brought out, almost too much. the poor carpets need more scotch guard. But he LOVES the tool, and in one or two swipes you have the blades full of excess hair. Consistently....again and again....without the spines being bent, no loud noises, no awkward moments with your pet staring at you in disbelief.Just be sure to have a trash can handy, because if your pet is like mine it will be full....and fast. This worked so well that we filled a small trash can three times on the first day. And the dog never fought us, never tried to run like we were hurting him, and even looked at his own pile of hair in disgust. This does not mean your pet will only need this once. Nope, nature decided that dogs will shed and often. But a regular routine of using this will keep the amount of hair in the carpets, furniture, air filters and your cloths will be at a minimum...although your cloths are NOT safe during this process. The best part is that this keeps working, and it is very durable. using it on a dog will in no way bend the dull blades. They are not real blades, like a knife, but they are blades as in a row of metal pieces rounded off so as not to be sharp. Surprisingly simple, yet very effective...repeatedly.As for cats, or your small indoor furry horse, I cannot say how well they take to it. But for my dog, this worked perfectly.

love it
this works great. there other brushes that look similar but do not perform anywhere as well as the shed monster. if you care about your dog NOT being tortured while being de-matted, this is the one you want.

but Iris sheds like crazy. I wash the dogs every week to ...
I have a border collie (Iris) and a Schnauzer (Sherlock). We have recently moved into a different house and have encountered a problem we didn't have at our old house namely, the dog hair is intolerable! This house is small and has 50% in carpet, which is different from our old house with more hard flooring. Of course the Schnauzer doesn't shed, but Iris sheds like crazy. I wash the dogs every week to every other week and dry them and brush them but this only seems to help some. So, before my husband decided to relegate the dogs outside to the 20 degree temperatures and listen to them bark all night, I started researching de-shedding tools.I hadn't looked for de-shedding tools prior to this as one of the brushes I use says the one side is for this purpose, so I thought de-shedders just didn't work. Since I was becoming desperate, as I pride myself on being a tidy housekeeper and our house was becoming gross, I looked and found one in a Tractor Supply store for $60.00. I thought that was too much money to try something that may not work. So I got on the internet and started hunting around for reviews. This one (Oster) actually was the second favorite, however the first favorite (The Furminator, I believe it was called) had some issues with the cleaning part of the brush breaking. So I purchased the Oster with no cleaning mechanism. It really has cut down drastically on the shedding. The hair is so much more manageable and we are not finding it in the food nearly so much. I can't imagine someone needing the cleaning mechanism because there is so much static cling with the hair you have to grab it with your hand anyway and, at least Iris's hair, comes off the tool easily. She doesn't necessarily like being brushed with it as it pulls, but I use it slowly and gently, twice over her and twice per week on dry hair (her washing is in between the brushing sessions and YES, she is worth all this trouble!!!).I highly recommend this tool.

Best de shedding tool available
I bought this after being recommended it by someone. We have a large long haired German Shepherd and have tried so many different brushes on him to remove his excess hair. This brush has been significantly more effective than anything else we have tried and quickly removes his loose fur reducing the amount floating around the house if used on a regular basis. He also doesn’t dislike the feeling of being brushed with it as he has with some other types. Would definitely recommend using for any dogs which shed large amounts of hair.

Brilliant grooming tool with no sharp points.
The best grooming tool I’ve used. Better than the market leader. This really gets out so much hair and fluff. Both my dog and cat enjoy being combed with it and handfuls come out. Do it in the garden, not the kitchen!

Great de shredder
Having two long coated German shepherded dogs you can guess the amount of fur that needs grooming. This tool is good and it doesn't scratch like some other brushes which makes it kinder to their skin. However I have only given it 4 stars as it would of been better if it was a bit bigger for larger dogs & my use. If you have a smaller long haired dog then it's perfect and deserves five stars . Recommended and would stillPurchase but would of liked it a little bigger

Halved the size of my cat
Could have made a 2nd cat with the fur that came of mine. He's a ragdoll, but omg the fur that came off him. It didn't seem to hurt him while I was using it, and after a few sessions (he doesn't like being brushed for more than 10 mins), he looked half the size. He was so super soft as well, and it really helped during the worst of the heat wave. He's now shedding less as well.

Does what it says
Don’t need to use any pressure, the first time I used it I couldn’t believe how much hair came out. My dog loves it.
