Americolor Powder Food Color, 3gm, Red

Used this for some macarons and it was very vivid!

When I first mixed in the color, all I could get is more of a clay color(see picture) and I thought, "Oh great, another red that can't deliver an actual red"... I went ahead and used it anyway and flavor wise I couldn't even taste it in my frosting. Then a few hours later, I had RED! Not just light red, I had a BRIGHT red(pictured). It really didn't take that much to color a bowl of frosting, although you may need a whole container to do a full big batch of frosting. But I think it is so worth it for the red you can achieve without that nasty bitter taste that you get from the gel. 10/10 Will buy again. This is the best red food coloring I have ever used!!! I'm so happy I gave it a try!

I have purchased the black color as well and was very pleased. I seem to go through a lot of red so I thought I'd give this a try. It wasn't as powerful as the black, but it definitely helps my macarons where even the slightest liquid can drastically alter results. I often use this in addition to gel coloring to pack more vibrant colors in. Do know that it can increase in vibrancy as time goes on, so my macarons are much brighter at the end of their rest period compared to when I first put the color in. If you aren't sure if the color is right, let it sit so the color can develop for a bit before looking again.

good coloring, the longer it sets, the darker coloring gets, so give ur self time.

Pros -Perfect color. -Did not have any flavor. Frosting texture and flavor was not affected at all. -Easy to use. (My mixer died on me but I was still able to blend this in by hand and get a good smooth color.) Cons -Needed the whole container for the one batch of frosting. (Not a terrible thing, but good to know when planning ahead.)

I didn’t know this have red 40 🙄 after i got the product i saw just reason for the 3 star but if u don’t care about red 40 i does work fine

I am involved in an online bakery business and have been plagued for several years with sugar cookie icing colors turning "splotchy" after a couple of days. As our products are mailed out, it's never certain that they will look the same as shipped after receipt by the customer. My partner suggested a trial use of powdered food coloring - so I made a few cookies with the red color (the worse offender). After several days they're still pristine!! Altho this product is probably not as economical as the liquid or gel varieties, the results are so worth it.
