My old power supply died and I needed to replace it because my 10 year old Dell Windows 7 machine containing 32 bit engineering software that is irreplaceable. I purchased this power supply and I am very satisfied. However, as other people have commented, I had to make some modifications which wasn't too difficult. I had to clip the pigtail for the hard drive power cords off of my old power supply and solder/heat shrink it to the new one to reach my dual hard drive set up. The power supply did fit the original space perfectly and snapped in place. But the other issue was that I had to drill a hole in the back of my computer case to secure the power supply since this is a typically generic replacement unit and the screw holes on the new p/s were located differently. Other reviewers commented about the fan being loud. It is a slightly louder but not distracting. Overall, as I said, I'm very satisfied. My Dell is up and running!

I have a Dell Inspiron 580 that I got back in 2010 that has had some erratic start-up issues over the years. I had assumed it was the start button because the problem would arise for a couple of days and then vanish for months. Then the computer died. I did some online research and found that Dell had some power supply issues in some models back in 2010 and 2011. I got this replacement power supply and it was a perfect replacement fit. Same size and it had all the power cable connections I needed. I had to look up on Youtube on how to depress the tabs on the computer case to release the old power supply and then bend them back so that they would lock the replacement in place. It was all pretty easy. Took me less than a half hour to swap out the power supply and the computer works just fine now. Thanks Amazon for having the right replacement power supply for me.

The unit fit fine and seems to work well. Installation wasn't too bad but I noticed that the plug for the hard drive was flipped 180°. I had to run the wiring a little different so it didn't get too compressed when the tower case was closed. I had to stretch the cable a little more than I would like and had to run the wire a different path but it works. The DELL brand is on Amazon and I saw it after I ordered this. It's $60 with a longer delivery but it could be the better option. Hopefully this works out.

Installed with no problem and seems to work well. The only con is the fan is a little noisier than the original power supply.

It works, but much much louder than the original one from the dell factory. After installed this PSU, my desktop automatically shut down twice in one month. The PSU is defective. Also, the seller does not want to spend money on a shipping box, and power supply is shipped in a bubble wrap.

The first one I got had a bad on/off switch. I returned it and they sent me another one in three days. It's very easy to install because of the cable lengths are just right and you cannot do it wrong. It's very quiet.

This was described as a replacement for Dell's Vostro power supply but it was incompatible with my Vostro 220. Unlike the original wires, the longer set of device wires on this unit could not reach my optical drives. I had to cut the plugs and wires off from my failed power supply and solder them to the wires on this unit.

The power supply went bad in my Dell tower PC and I needed a replacement power supply. This one was good value for money and worked perfectly to get my PC back up an running. Works great again now!

Good power supply although the motherboard cable is not long enough

The power supply fit the computer fine but the fan (after 3 months started making a noise. Now the fan has quit. Not impressed.
