I was interested in trying this and am glad we did. We made a "beef" broccoli stir fry and this package fed our family of 8. We also bought from Amazon 4 1/2 pounds of jackfruit for the same price and we'll get 3 meals for the same price. In short, the taste was awesome and I will buy this as an occasional treat unless the price comes down.

I have cooked this sort of product before. I know the importance of good hydration and proper preparation. This product did not cook well at all. I marinated the chunks overnight and even then I could not get the chunks to have an acceptable texture. Eating this was like eating a sponge, just terrible. It did not matter how small I cut the chunks the sponge-like texture did not go away. I ended up throwing my dish away after spending so much time on making a good marinate.

I followed the soak for 15-minutes on this and wound up with flavorless, nastiness. I tried adding flavor to it (turmeric, salt, chili) and it was still not good. I'm going to try soy sauce next time to see if that can infuse the protein, but right now I have no plans to buy this again. I bought it in an effort to find an easy meat substitute that lacks cholesterol. I'm searching lots of different options, and this is not among the good meat-alternatives I've come across so far.

Actually surprised about this. A vegan recipe called for this. My daughter is vegan. I've used in a few other dishes for her. She likes it.

These chunks are pretty good! Cool I'm vegetable broth for about 20 minutes then cook however you want. My only complaint is the number of servings for the price

Good and great price.I like using it since I'm vegetarian. It comes on handy.

Didn't care for these at all. Smell was off and just not what I expected.
